From the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water and Sicario) and starring Academy Award® Winner* Kevin Costner, Yellowstone revolves around the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Costner), who controls the largest ranch in the U.S. that is under constant attack by those it borders: land developers, an Indian reservation and America’s fi rst National Park. This is a world where land grabs make developers billions, and politicians are bought and sold by the world’s largest oil and lumber corporations. It is the best and worst of America seen through the eyes of a family that represents both. The impressive cast also includes Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Danny Huston, Gil Birmingham, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, David Annable, and many more.SPECIAL FEATURESInside YellowstoneCostner On YellowstoneCowboy CampCharacter SpotsBehind The StoryWorking The Yellowstone: Production DesignWorking The Yellowstone: Special Effects‘Yellowstone’ Official Theme Music Composed By Brian TylerTaylor Sheridan & Kevin Costner on Yellowstone

Shooting between the eyes....
I wasn't really sure what to expect from this show, as I hadn't read anything prior to seeing the first season. It doesn't pull any punches in respect to it's key theme - survival of a family in respect to it's ownership of the land, whatever the cost. It is often a brutal display of this, seeking to probe both the evil and the pain of these people in a no holds barred fashion. The performances are excellent, blending the notion of the harshness of a life of ranch hands with the pressures of the modern world. You find yourself shocked at certain often unexpected turns of events, but equally hoping that these people will somehow find a measure of redemption amidst their lives. Looking forward to more from seasons 2-4 (so far).

Bad new season
Taylor Sheridan wrote a great story in the beginning but has slowly declined into just mush and too much rodeo stuff which has taken over series 5? a once great storyline,so won't be buying next dvd

YELLOWSTONE SEASON ONE DVD
There are so many favourable reviews and now so many series that I had to give this ago. Obviously season one has to set the scene, and as a result I did find the whole series rather slow moving regarding development of the plot. However, there is plenty of action and intrigue and it is well acted (though why Kelly Reilly was cast is beyond me - but she is excellent - it's just that there must have been 50 American actresses who would be just as good? Different, yes, but I digress. There is a warning that the episodes show adult content and language, and they do!! So be aware. Also it tends to be quite violent. So maybe not a family programme. Apart from Costner/Reilly/Huston/Cole Hauser the cast was unknown to me, but all fit their roles perfectly. Beautifully filmed on spectacular locations, with good picture, sound and subtitles, I shall be progressing to series 2, and maybe even series 3 - !!! Recomended but with some minor rservations re swearing and violence.

Brilliant!!
Having watched season 2 on Paramount, I decided to buy this to get the full picture of Yellowstone and the Dutton family. This is a great season. Loads of action both on the ranch and of it. Its also has a DVD with extra features with the actors talking. Can't wait for season 3 to come out. Definitely recommend this series.
