Q: When you carry it as a backpack is the "bottom" hard/ stiff?

It is very firm and supportive and does bend slightly with pressure, but I would not say it’s stiff like a plank of wood.

Q: does this bag fit under jetblue’s seats?

Not sure under jet blue, Lufthansa and KLM fits well

Q: I am planning an oversees flight, dimensions from the airline are 18 x 11 x 9.5 in. Can this carrier be squished down to fit?

I am not sure of the dimensions bit it said it could fit under the seats on an airplane I had to return it as my dog was bigger than the carrier it was flexible. The back pack part was awesome just wished my dog was not to big for it
