Midwest Hearth 100% Natural Lava Stones for Gas Fire Pit and Fireplace (Large (2" - 3"))

They look fantastic, but after 10 minutes of direct flame a rock exploded and a 1" chunk hit me in the chin about 10 feet away. Thankfully it wasn't my eye and nobody was hurt!Edit: After 40 additional minutes they seem stable and no more have exploded. Thermal camera reads the temp at 1,032 degrees. Just bake them a while before you actually decide to be anywhere near them.

Love this addition to my island’s new centerpiece. I do suggest rinsing them off before use, though. Very dusty in the bag, but clean up nicely and easily. Definitely recommend.

Firepit media, arrived quickly and was as described. I do like how it is working for us. We selected this to add to 3 other forms of media. I do wish other amount purchases were available
