Care Touch Skinfold Body Fat Caliper Set, Measure Tape Included

Great little piece for the price. The caliper is just plastic, so I am sure it will eventually break, but what can you expect for $8? It seems sturdy enough to last for at least a few months taking measurements on 2-4 people once a week. The tape measure seems to be better quality, though. It is extremely easy to use, simply pop the end of the tape in the hole on the other side and put whatever you want to measure inside before pressing the button. Pretty engenious design, though, being that I only paid $8 for the pair, I'm sure the internal mechanism will eventually give out.Pros:*Cheap*Smart design for the tape measure*Sturdy enough to last long enough to make it worth the money.Cons:*Included instructions could be betterOverall, I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind replacing it within a year or so. I may be wrong, I've only had mine a little over a week, so it may surprise me and last longer. But for the price, I don't think you can really beat it, especially considering it comes with the nifty little tape measure.

Nice design and easy to use. The tape measure is an odd design but it works really well, especially because you can't get it too tight. Instead you hook the end of the tape back into the case then hit a button which snuggs it up and gives you a consistent reading. Darn I can't cheat anymore by pulling too tight! Aslo the calipers have a stop on them that tells you exactly when to take your measurement. Snug but not pinching. Really nice system that should make it easier to see small improvement that you can trust.

The calipers are plastic calipers with numbers printed on the front in inches and millimeters. The pinch part works fine and is more comfortable than metal callipers. The click part doesn't work even a little and is kind of ludicrous - even in trying it out before using it, it doesn't stay "clicked" and has no impact at all on the calipers. No idea why they'd even include it - it's like when they make toy medical equipment and they leave on some part as a vestigial reminder of its purpose but it has no effect when used. It measures well enough, but you're going to have to use a fingernail or something to mark where your caliper measurement landed.The tape measure is deluxe, though. It's the soft kind so it doesn't scratch. There's a handle to end the fumbling with the tiny end. It'll lock the increment you land on. There's even a notch for putting the tape measure end so you can be certain of accuracy.Altogether, the overall value of the tape measure makes up for the embellished simplicity of the calipers, but if you need a serious and precise pinch measurement, this is not the device you're looking for.

Package arrived safe and sound with Calipers and Tape measure in the package.Wife and I are trying new diets and wanted to get *approximate* body fat numbers to go along with the measurement of body parts (Tummy, arms, legs, chest, etc... etc....) Overall, these are fine ... I'll go over our pro's and con's.Pro's:* Excellent price for both the calipers and tape measure.* Card that explains caliper measurements is easy to understand and read.* Came packaged well, nothing was damaged, and all was in tact.Con's:* There are no directions for how to use the calipers *properly*. They give you a small (2) picture diagram explaining how to use them, but you really need more detail on how to pinch the skin and use the actual calipers.* Tape measure doesn't move freely. Gets stuck constantly when trying to return the tape to its housing. Annoying, but it eventually goes in.Overall, we weren't expecting the world with these products at this price point. They work well for their intend purpose and we're happy with that.*** SIDE NOTE***We found that the calipers are more precise if you are clamping/closing the clicking side with your smaller fingers. Use your thumb on the large non movable side.Hope this helps others. I'd buy them again ... If you need EXACT BF% ... I'd go a different route as opposed to calipers. If you need a range of a few percent, these calipers will work great.

I returned this product. It did not "click" into place so that you could remove the caliper from your skin and then check the measurement. It did not click even when there was nothing being pinched. It simply did not click as the instructions said on the single sheet of paper that came with this item. The tape measure finally after much pushing etc. would back into the case. It looked nice, but it is made out of thin plastic and really I should have known better. Oh, the piece of paper that showed how much fat a man has on one side and how much fat a woman has on the other side came torn about two inches. It was a great try and a nice idea, but it simply did not work at all.

They work well. I had trouble at first trying to get an accurate body fat % because it was saying I was 30%. But then I figured out how to use it and got a roughly accurate reading. It is not a fancy apparatus. The included tape measure works works as it should. This seller really cares about customer service. I was getting numerous emails from them asking how my transaction was, if I received the product, and if it was working to my satisfaction. Just the other day the tape measure started to break and I sent them an email and the next day I got a reply back of "Ok sending a replacement." I am very satisfied.

Sure its cheap, you get what you pay for. This does exactly what I want it to. It helps me have a feedback loop. I know have more points of data on how my body is changing. If you are looking to be able to measure your progress I recommend this tool. be advised though you get what you pay for. I really like this caliper set though, it is simple and effective.
