Quality as expected from Wilson products
Great quality Wilson antenna as always. Instant improvement over the Trucker 2000. Mine came with the 5" shaft, I wanted the 10". I just ordered a 10" shaft rather than return it. I will be putting it on my Volvo truck with perch mount Sunday before I hit the road. I want to see what if any improvements that might be had by getting the coil above the cab. I will update if there was any noticeable improvements..What an improvement, it pulls in weak signals with ease. Tuned up super easy. I am very satisfied with this antenna...

10 Ft Whip, NOT
The instructions are little on the vague side. There's a tiny 3" whip and a short extension the instructions make no mention of. So that's a mystery. Also, the description claims the whip is 10 ft in length, but is actually 4 ft. The overall length of the antenna is 5'4".It will need to be tuned via the insertion depth of the whip into its mounting hole. Fortunately I have a RigExpert antenna tuner.With the antenna mounted in a mag-mount base sitting on the top of my Subaru Outback, the best tune is appx 1.5:1 across the band (26.965-27.405 MHz).The set screws securing the whip into the coil mounting hole are very soft and easy to strip. Extreme care is need during the tuning process to not strip the inner hex (allen) slot.I am using a 5" diameter mag-mount which seems very secure but is untetsed at this point.

This really works....
I am certainly not an expert on CB radios or antennas, but this antenna has enabled me to pick up signals I have never picked up in the past. I was running another antenna that was decent and looked really cool but had nowhere the power of this one. I will not say the brand cuz I dont want to put that product down. I use this on my jeep wrangler with a Midland CB unit. Never in a million years would have thought an antenna would make such a difference. It was definitely an ah ha moment for me. I would recommend getting a quick release so you can lock this antenna up when you leave your vehicle unattended for a long period of time. Oh, also make sure to ground your antenna as well. I have mine grounded to the frame. I highly recommend this product.

>>> IT'S A WILSON 5000 TRUCKER <<<
This is as good as it gets and performance is what one would expect from the best.I mated this with a stainless barrel-spring and the 305-700 "gum-drop" stud mount.Even though my mirror already had very good GROUND to body and chassis, I ran a couple 12-AWG wire GROUNDs, just to be sure.Without touching a screw, SWR was well within the "good" range and better than I have been able to acheive on other antennae after much fidgeting and adjustments.And for icing on the cake, it just plain looks !!!COOL!!!Never before did anyone inquire about any of the many antennae I have had in the past; now, not a day passes without someone asking "how do you like that WILSON"
