GREAT VALUE
Excellent anemometer and great value. Easy to measure CFM once you learn how to accomplish it. The UP arrow should be replaced by a RIGHT arrow. The DOWN arrow should be replaced by an UP arrow. The manual is not clear on how to use these buttons. The resolution is not sensitive to small changes. When measuring CFM, changes of less than 150 CFM will not be shown. The much more expensive Extech AN100 shows changes as small as 30 CFM. Repeatability is excellent, partly because of low resolution that smooths variation due to turbulence. I noticed that the velocity readings were lower that those observed on the Extech AN100. I checked the velocity using a Dwyer Vaneometer at 200 ft/min. The MS6252a read 196.5 ft/min (correct) and the AN100 read 270 ft/min (incorrect). The MS6252a does not retain settings once unit is turned off. This is only a minor inconvenience. The unit is very convenient to use and the characteristics shown above are helpful for many applications. I really like that the unit is one piece and does not have a cable. The backlight is uniform and works well (wish I could set it to stay on longer). When measuring CFM of central air conditioners, the actual velocity is very low (may be as low as 200 ft/minute). Don't be misled by the details listed above. This is a very accurate unit and is highly recommended.

Easy to read
Works well. Easy to read. Price is right. You will find out wind speed is very deceiving.

great if you want metric every time you turn it on.....
well made but as with many of this kind of thing, the instruction manual is very vague about how to go from one function to another, and when you power the unit down, all the settings are lost so you have to re-set each time if you don't want the default metric settings. Yes it does measure CFM but only after quite a few button pushes to set up. After much trial and error I finally made up a step by step guide so I won't have to re-invent the wheel every time I turn it on.

Definitely a good item if you need to balance you home air ducts - at little cost
Works perfectly, received quickly, well packaged. Had to make up a vent box to concentrate the air motion. Works perfectly so now I know the velocity of air coming out of each vent, making the balancing more precise. Picture of vent box attached, not elegant but a roll of duct tape will fix it.Saves money doing it yourself and improves the comfort in the house.

Not bad but there are better
I actually sent this back and got a different one that has temp and a threaded hole for a bipod.

great tool.
great tool ...... I must say though you need to be a bit tech savvy to be able to use the tool to it's full extent.

Good buy
This is a really nice anemometer for the price. I used it with a cardboard box and was able to calculate my cfm. I would say it was just as good as a balometer or pretty darn close. If you're a real professional with your own business get a balometer though.
