Q: How many hours are you getting out of the stylus?

I've gotten just over 300 hours on mine and it's still sounds nice. But I am wondering if some of the surface noise I'm hearing on LP's might not mean it's time for a new one? It does have a reported 300 hour life.

Q: Does this actually work with the sony ps-lx310bt? It doesn't look like it would fit, but I've read reviews that say it will. Thanks.

It will not work. Your cartridge is permanently attached and you can only replace the stylus with the same stylus.

Q: Is this an easy cartridge to install and align?

It is, from the standpoint that the fasteners for the bolts are captured in the cartridge body and not 'loose' as in previous models of this cartridge. It really is just a matter of connecting the four wires, mounting the two small bolts with the included plastic washers until just barely making contact and then align using your preferred alignment protractor and perform a final tightening on the bolts. Of course all of this goes much faster if your tonearm has a removeable headshell, but even for someone fairly new to turntables it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to install and align this cartridge unless you have issues removing your old one (wires are on tight, etc...). If you are buying a new headshell with it then it really is a piece of cake. I recommend getting an inexpensive set of those 'jewelry making pliers' or at least a miniature set of needle-nose pliers that are smooth/don't have teeth on them. They make taking off and reattaching the tiny wires much easier and lessen the likelihood of breaking a wire or scratching things up over a normal set of pliers.
