Q: What are the dimensions of the inside of one drawer?

The sides measured inside the drawer are 5 inches tall from the bottom of the drawer. However you could place a box that is 6 1/2 inches high in the drawer, and not effect the operation of the drawer above. In other words they could have made the sides of the drawers 1 1/2 inches taller.

Q: Is this made of solid wood?

No. I think it's called particle wood with veneer. Mine is the cherry wood finish Chips easily, but if handled gently & sits out of traffic, it serves its purpose. I have it in my closet & use it for my lingerie.

Q: Do the drawers come already assembled? Or do you have to build each drawer? Can an older lady with no experience, easily put this together?

Yes, you need to assemble the drawers. It is not difficult, but I would allow yourself plenty of time (a couple of hours) so you don't feel rushed. Since you say you have no experience, if you had someone to assist you, that might be a good idea, but certainly not necessary. I have had a few comments from older ladies who have assembled our furniture. For assembly, you will need a Phillips screwdriver, a flat head screwdriver and a hammer.
