It was a perfect fit for putting under our fire pit.

Grass was still scorched
Placed the mat under our portable fire pit that itself is elevated a couple inches above the ground (tiki brand). It was used over grass. Post use the grass was still scorched underneath. I can’t imagine what would have happened if this had been attempted on a wooden deck.
