A fifty-dollar solution to a $200 problem.
I was pleasantly surprised by the 'more-than-good-enough' quality and effectiveness of this inexpensive solution. You DO have to engage some brain cells to get this thing set up properly -- this is not for the mechanically challenged and you will have to rely on your brains mostly and not on the instruction manual (which is poor at best).I hooked this up with a BIG, HEAVY 1/2" power drill and it did just fine on 1/4" aluminum plate stock and an irregularly shaped cast-aluminum remote oil filter mount for our boat. That said, I also applied some moly grease to the adjustment screws/threads to make sure the collett clamp was gripping properly.No...this will not substitute for your mom's (or dad's) 3/4 horsepower machine-shop quality drill press you hope you'll inherit someday, if you can only get it out of their basement...But when you're in a pinch, it can get you out of a jam.

Well worth it...valuable tool if you have the right drill
If you don't need a full size drill press often, and need the space, this thing is great. Its very well built, the only challenge is making sure you have a drill that is the right collar size to either it in it, or to used the collar adapters. Not sure cordless drills would be good with this. I have a Milwaukee Magnum Hole Shooter heavy duty corded drill and it work perfect in this unit. Really happy with it as I don't need it often but when you do, accuracy is so important and you just can't beat a drill press.

Well made piece of equipment.
I am an amateur woodworker so my comments are not necessarily applicable to using this equipment for metal working. I bought this primarily to use my drill as a drum sander. Unfortunately the chuck of my excellent 1/2” Hitachi D13VF was just too big to fit into the stand, but, fortunately, another drill was available and fits perfectly. The base of this Drill Press is solid, heavy and nicely machined; the sliding drill holder is equally well machined and fitted and moves very nicely. I think it would have been better to have made the vertical post from seamless tubing rather than the light walled welded tube provided, but that would have added cost and will not affect my usage.I have another bench top drill press made by a German manufacturer for at least twice the price, much heavier, but I think the Lukcase is excellent value for money and perfect for my needs.

Filled Need, But Question Durability
I gave this drill press 3 stars because it fills a niche for those who don't want to invest in a more expensive drill press. I didn't rate it higher because it's not well made and I fear it wouldn't hold up to more demanding applications.I was working on a project that required drilling 224 holes using a 2" forstner bit. I was rebuilding the railing on my log cabin. The holes needed to be perpendicular to the 3 1/2" round rails and sunk to the same depth. This drill press provided the stable platform for drilling perpendicular holes in the 6' long rails and has a visual depth gauge to drill holes to a similar depth. And it allowed me to use my Milwaukee 1/2" drill, which is a high quality drill that I knew had enough power to drive the 2" forstner bit to the 1 1/2" depth required.I considered buying a larger bench-top motorized drill press, but I felt I would have difficulty maneuvering these long rails into the drill and I was concerned that cheaper models wouldn't have the power required to turn the forstner bit.The quality issue that I mentioned previously occurred when I was adjusting the height of the drill over the rail. The mechanism that holds the drill slides on the chrome pole and clamps in place by tightening two bolts using an Allen wrench. The first issue was that the Allen wrench began to distort the bolt head slot with only moderate pressure. Because I was afraid to put too much pressure when tightening these bolts, the drill moved up on the pole when I applied downward pressure on the press handle. When I tried again to tighten the bolts the threads on both of them stripped (see picture). My solution was to replace these two bolts with good quality stainless steel bolts from the local hardware store. I highly recommend that you do this before you use this drill press. The quality of these bolts, or lack there of, makes me believe that this drill press is made from low quality materials and would not hold up in more rigorous applications, such as drilling thicker metal where significant downward force is required. But it did fit the need I had and was a relatively cheap way to get the control I needed to drill straight holes to a consistent depth.

Does NOT WORK with any "name brand" battery-powered drill out of the box.
This is NOT designed for MOST battery-powered drills. This is designed for a select group of corded drills due to its attachment style. You have to have a stationary portion of your drill that fits in the mounting ring. The mounting ring is not for your chuck!! With the price of this, if you do not already have a drill that fits this just buy a Mini Drill Press from Harbor Freight. You will likely spend the same amount of money after buying this and a drill unless you get your drill from a second-hand source. However, NOT ALL CORDED DRILLS WORK EITHER!!!

good solid portable drill press stand for a beginner with very limited space
I mounted it on a wooden block with a cheap drill that has a power button that locks on. Added a crayon box to the block of wood to hold the tools and adapters that came with it .This made a nice portable drill press for about $60 that I can carry with one hand to wherever I need to work.

Works fine with my Dewalt DW989 1/2" Drill
After a 10 minute assembly and some slight adjustments this rig is ready to go. Can't really complain about much once I adjusted the drill with one of the thinnest sleeves and tightened everything down I was able to get the drill profile perpendicular in both axis within the tolerances that I need for my projects. I would recommend it for small scale work, but I'm not sure about trying to end mill anything as the chuck alone has movement laterally, but fine for drilling holes.
