Excellent - would recommend
I hardly ever write Amazon reviews â but I am writing this one because I am so impressed with this device. I am an engineer and I think that this little device is remarkable in many ways. First of all â it really does work. I was sceptical when I ordered this since I have tried other similar products that didnât work. But this definitely does.It is remarkably small. My cat has no problem carrying this at all. I admit, he is a fairly beefy ginger-tom â but in my opinion even a smaller cat would be ok with this.Batter life is better than I expected from other reviews. We charge it daily (when the cat comes home after his midnight adventures) but after a night out the battery is normally showing around 75% remaining.I see that some people have commented on the devices accuracy (I almost didnât buy it because of these comments). But actually it is really good. It has three modes (1) GPS (2) WiFi and (3) Local Base Station. Mostly we get a good GPS signal, which shows in the cat within a few metre radius â easy to find him. The other two options are really fall back I think â because GPS wonât work indoors or under heavy cover. Finally, my daft cat lost his collar last night (we have the type that unclips if he gets caught on something). I was annoyed as I thought I had lost this handy little device. But then I used the tracker to locate it to a field close to where I live. I then switched on the âFind my watchâ function which makes the thing give off a ringing tone. After 2-3 minutes I found it! Very happy! Now I just need to talk to the cat about loosing his collar!I would definitely recommend this â and I really hardly ever say that about products, being a âgrumpy old engineerâ at heart.

Not a great product, but great customer service
**update on the below review****I sent an email to the company directly and provided my review of the product. The customer service I was provided was brilliant, they took everything I said as constructive and were very understanding and helpful. It makes me sad as they are obviously a great company who have succeeded with their other products and it's a shame the tracker wasnt up to scratch. If they updated their product and the tracking was improved I would definitely reconsider and buy the product again. **Original review- It gives me no pleasure to advise that I am extremely disappointed by the cat tracker I purchased from yourselves.I did thorough research into your product before purchasing and was very excited to start using it in action. Understandably there were mixed reviews but I didnt get the service I thought I was signing up for which is a real shame. To start, when the tracker arrived, the case that holds the tracker was very bulky and wide, not suitable for a cat collar due to all the extra space around it. It didn't sit comfortably on my cat (he is a 6kg, large cat so the size of the tracker was fine, just the gaps where you feed the collar through was not). Its a shame a purpose made collar wasnt provided as no normal cat collars would fit it. Probably better for a dog collar as they are much wider. When I first turned it on it worked fine, the moment he left the garden is where the cat tracker didn't work. I could see him in my neighbor's garden over the fence but the tracker was picking it up in a completely different location further away. One of my neighbor's has wifi, which meant within the huge radius near their house it would come up that he was there when he most certainly was not as they have a dog.I spoke to all my neighbor's and they confirmed they had not seen him but the tracker was jumping around their gardens. When stood at the exact point of where the tracker say he was he was no where to be seen. I understand you mention that the tracker doesn't pick up properly when the cat goes inside a house. I can only assume this is the same if they are next to a house, shed, fence, car, wifi or trees.Unsurprisingly the cat managed to lose the collar and when I went to look for it. It was no where to be seen in the huge radius it picked up. The tracker in the end ran out of battery and has not been seen again. Neighbor's have been notified to let me know if they find it, which in itself is complete agro that I had to knock on every house down that road again.I am really really disappointed in the product and I'm really disappointed that I paid ÂŁ40 for a tracker which lasted a matter of days.

Good piece of kit once I figured out how to make it work for me & Sammy
This tracker isn't perfect, but once we figured out a routine with it it came into its own. We had been letting our cat out at night, and after a couple of scares this gadget helped us realise we had to change things to keep him safe.Accuracy - not bad. You have to turn off "local base station" mode or you get random pings from wifi hubs that say your cat is miles away. You also have to accept that if they're indoors or heavy undergrowth it wont work because of no line-of-sight with the GPS satellites. That is why it will say your cat is down the road when they're sat on your lap. It only updates every 10 mins or so, so if they've moved inside in the mean time it will show you their last known location (keep a close eye on the time stamp).Battery life - it's about a day or so if you leave it on normal mode, so won't last a weekend away (although may do on low-power setting). Can't really complain for such a small/light piece of kit. We got into a strict routine of taking it off at the end of the day, and leaving it to charge overnight so it's full every morning. This goes against the instructions of max 2hr charge, and probably impacts the shelf life of the battery, but for us is the best way of knowing it's fully charged when we put it on our cat for the day.Weight - seems fine. Particularly the Lynx model, which is a few g's lighter, although no speaker. Our cat had this from about 9 months and was fine with it. No complaints, and no apparent impact on ability to climb, jump, forage, catch frogs, and generally cause trouble. Seems perfectly able to get comfy and have a nap while wearing it. No pawing or clawing at all.Lifespan/lose-ability - depends on how you feel about quick release collars. If your cat is good at losing collars, it will be good at losing the tracker. Yes, you've a reasonable chance of finding it before the battery runs out, but cats don't always lose their collars in easily accessible places. We've had 3 over the space of 6 months, which is expensive, but for us is worth it (our cat has on occasion travelled literally miles from home). You could attach it with a buckle collar and it will never come off, but then you may be risking your cat getting stuck in a bush...I'd recommend against the long-term data plans due to the fact they can be lost easily, as you may spend up front for a contract you then don't use if you chose not to replace. The app - needs some usability improvements, but does what's needed. Text is a bit small on the location pin, so you have to use a magnifying glass to read the time stamp. Also, when you hit "locate" it takes what feels like an age to update (up to a minute) and quite often says "device offline" (cat is indoors or down a drain or something). It's just not super-slick compared to some modern apps, but is functional, and am sure will improve.Customer support - awesome. In summary - If you've got a wanderer it's a godsend, and you're essentially paying for peace of mind. We may give up replacing this if our cat keeps losing them, but from the data it's sent over the past 6 months we now know the most likely places to look for him should he go missing (which he does regularly), including a couple of surprising locations we probably wouldn't have though of. Plus it's super-interesting.I'm pretty confident that without it we'd be minus 1 cat right now, so for me is worth it despite the cost, flaws, and idiosyncrasies.
