Extra screws are a bonus, and this is one of very few plates that is pre-threaded for additional 1/4"-20 screws. I can carry the lens and camera with Black Rapid attached to one end of this plate,, and am always ready to mount the assembly on a head for tripod use.More manufacturers should have extra threaded holes in this type of quick-release plate.

An excellent plate for the price. I have several of these from Wemberley and Kirk and there is very little difference in the fit and finish between this item and these much higher priced items. I don't know what the alloy composition difference is but so far this plate has worked great with lenses up to 500 mm focal length. Recommended.

Using a tripod gimble mount with my Canon 800mm prime lens was just a bit shy of achieving balance. The addition of this plate added just enough reach that this 10lb lens is easily able to reach the balance point.

Cheaply made. The screws fit poorly and are clumsy to use. I am afraid that they may damage my lens. I threw it away since it was too late to return it once I tried using it.

great plate for the money....actually, a pretty good plate period! I appreciate the two, yes TWO mounting screws. I like to know my lens is secured to the plate....confidence these plates provide!!!
