The Great Gatsby: The Original 1925 Edition (A F. Scott Fitzgerald Classic Novel)

As a junior in high school, I didn’t expect The Great Gatsby to be something I’d enjoy—but I was wrong. This book was way more interesting than I thought it would be. The characters are complex, the drama is intense, and the story has a deeper meaning that really hits you if you pay attention.F. Scott Fitzgerald does an amazing job showing how chasing the “American Dream” can mess people up. Gatsby seems like he has it all, but deep down he’s just chasing a fantasy. I liked how the book made me think about things like success, love, and how fake people can be.Even though it’s set in the 1920s, the story still feels relevant today. The way people act rich or lie to impress others? That still happens now. The writing style was a little tricky at first, but once I got used to it, I appreciated how well it was written.

Arrived quickly. One of my all time favorite books. Bought for my child. Read it!

Classic book. My son loved reading this for his required reading in English class.

I am pleased to inform you that I have acquired this book and commenced reading it promptly upon my arrival home. I found it to be highly engaging and compelling, to the extent that I experienced difficulty in ceasing my reading. It is my intention to attend the Broadway musical adaptation of this literary work in two months, and I considered it prudent to familiarize myself with the source material beforehand.

Four stars as I feel this book is dated for a classic teaching book for my son's at school. There are others that teach this similar concept in a more renewed sense and time. Same with Catcher in the Rye, felt there was always going to be something more but the stories were ok, the lessons were solid. My son's enjoyed Huckleberry Fin and Of Mice and Men, but they said this and Catcher in the Rye were a bit dry. Good to read this for class in short bursts. Good quality paperback.

Cheaper here than going to the book store. Required reading for my teen.
