Q: Do you put tiles all over it or just on edges

tile it as you would the other surface in the shower to give a complete look

Q: The instructions are confusing. In a NEW install, does the backerboard go on first, then the niche? Or vice-versa?

I put backer board up with the hole precut out. Then placed the niche inside and secured. Then taped and waterproofed with liquid membrane. 3 coats for membrane coating.

Q: What adhesive is used on the abs plastic for mosaic tile?

I used regular tile adhesive from Lowe's, nothing special
