This is the best compact tape measure available easily. I love having metric and English scales both available. This unit is not intended for long measurements (only goes to 3.5 m / 12 foot.I now own three of them. I keep one in my work tool box, one in the car, and one at home at my computer desk. It is compact and easy to carry to the hardware store in your pocket. It doesn't add much weight to your toolbox. It fits in a desk drawer without taking too much volume.I bought the first one in 2015. I bought the second one in 2016. I just bought the third one in 2020. They are reliable and give me my money's worth.

Out of all the different tape measure brands and sizes that I've used over the years, this one turns out to be the most useful. This is the tape measure that I always keep handy on top of my desk. The metric system is a must-have these days, as we harmonize our measurement systems with the rest of the world, it is more common to see specifications in metric units. This size is good for a full range of activities such as measuring packages for shipping and home remodeling. This one fits comfortably in the palm of the hand, and feels light when clipped to a belt or pocket. I also keep one in the car.

I'm not sure why these are pretty much impossible to find in big box and home stores...thankfully anything can be found on Amazon. The compact size is both blessing and curse - it's small enough to not be cumbersome or snag itself on things in tight spaces, but this also makes the print on the tape tiny.I wish that the different standards faced opposite directions similar to most 12 inch/305mm rulers, it seems it would be easier to read. Better yet, having one standard on the opposite side of the tape would be even better, with a double sided hook to go along with it. I'm sure that would drive up the cost though, which was very low.This item is a must for the DIYer that follows online tutorials, as many are written by people from the rest of the world (that is, most first-world countries other than America that have had the sense to ditch the Imperial system of measurement).

Just don't extend it beyond it's limit or you will not be able to feed the tape back in. Otherwise awesome. User issue on my part.
