Engstler Quartz Cuckoo Clock Black Forest House with Moving Wood Chopper and Mill Wheel, with Music EN 4661 QMT

I love the way it looks, so different from the regular clocks that just have the large bird in flight on top of it. Wooden leaves around the bottom. The one I picked has a man chopping wood, and wood mill wheel turns, and 4 dancing couples go around near the top. The clock plays 12 different tunes, a different one each hour. The clock doesn't sound during sleeping hours, which is great. It has the pinecones, but you don't have to mess with them because it is set up to run on a battery. I would sure order it again and advise for you to look all the clocks over and pick one for your own. I just wish they would have put more bubble wrap around the box that was inside of the larger box so it wouldn't have moved around. Had to glue two shingles back on the roof. I love the clock, just what I was wanting. Thank you.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my husband, and it arrived in a really well protected box. No damage. The details of the little people and things are wonderful!We are at 5 months now and everything is still working great, and we really enjoy the multiple songs it chimes.I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes cookoo and grandfather clocks.

This replaced a 30 hour fully mechanical Black Forest clock we had that we were tired of winding every 12 hours or so (not high enough from the floor to get 24 hours out of it). The one we had was very nice with several of the traditional moving components. This genuine Black Forest clock is absolutely beautiful with outstanding workmanship of the clock cabinet. It was very well packaged for shipment from Germany and was easy to setup, essentially no assembly required, pop in the three included C batteries, hang, and set the time. It has similar moving components to the one we had. The cuckoo sound does have an echo but who cares, it is easy to tell the difference between the primary and secondary sounds. The cuckoo bird itself has two moving parts, the little beak opens with each sound and the wings move up and down. It is way too soon for us to evaluate the durability of the works but we are happy with this clock and would buy it again. We are also glad not be pulling up the weights twice per day.

This clock does not do the pictures that are presented of it in the advertisement justice. The wood is much darker and the contrast of the the colors is excellent. The Craftsmanship is outstanding and its quartz mechanism keeps perfect time. The sound quality of the multiple songs that are played hourly is superb. If you are worried that the night time sensor sound shutoff will cheat you out of the numerous melodic tunes by not playing after the sun goes down, don't. As long at there is some sort of light in the room it will do its thing. The entire clock is a treasure to behold. Quite frankly, I would not change a thing. You will not be disappointed.

The clock is beautiful and very well made. Only complaint is the cuckoo has an echo. When trying to count the time you have to pay very close attention.

We all really enjoy this cuckoo clock. It took quite a while to get through one of the ports in Europe during shipping and the seller communicated very well during this process once it arrived it was well packed and with batteries immediately worked like a charm. Good details on the clock and love the different songs it plays. Light sensor works well although if there is the tiniest bit of light on it will play the chimes. Highly recommended
