Fantastic Refill Option with GREAT Writing Characterstics! Highly Recommended!
After having used Midori/Designphil notebooks for some time and being very impressed with their performance, I decided to get a TN. The various TN inserts are of the highest quality possible and are exceptional for use with any type of writing instrument. This lightweight insert in particular is very similar to Tomoe River paper for those familiar with it, though definitely a tad thinner at 47gsm vs. Tomoe River Sanzen at 52gsm. It also features a perforation along the inside edge that helps you utilize this paper as a quick note paper for lists or the like, which I really like.Fountain pen enthusiasts will love the incredible quality of the paper; it does not feather whatsoever, even with a large amount of ink on the page, though I do strongly disagree with other reviewers that state the bleedthrough is the same as the standard insert. Please don't buy this with the expectation that it will perform as well, though it does still do well.Color-wise, the paper is a very stable white, showing color quite well. In my opininion, I do believe the lightweight is a 𝘵𝘰𝘶𝘤𝘩 lighter than the standard insert, but to me that's a strength. This could be in my head, though!I have provided a picture of the bleedthrough/ghosting properties of the two papers; you can clearly see that the lightweight paper is in fact lightweight, as it actually bleeds through whereas the standard only ghosts, and much more lightly at that. I specifically used a fountain pen that puts down quite a bit of ink, so you can see the difference. It's lightweight paper, it's a great experience to write on, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in a new insert type for the paper.

Very good product!
Lightweight and featherlight pages! This is ideal for anyone with a travelers notebook and doesn’t want such bulky paper! But this paper is paper crisp thin very wispy lol! Just keep that in mind with your specific pens like it feels like Bible paper lol. Also just too note to the company maybe put do not bend on the package the pictures indicate creasing the journal is very sensitive. One could argue maybe it was the Amazon truck but again the do not bend will handle that!Other than that cmon $7 bucks can’t beat that!

Works great with fountain pens and fast-drying ink
I use these inserts for a sort of daily scratch journal. I originally used them with a Lamy Al-Star and Noodler's burgundy and purple inks. The paper holds ink really well and doesn't bleed through. There is a slight ghosting but not enough to affect legibility. I had a terrible time with Moleskine journals and fountain pens. The only problem I had with the regular Noodler's inks was smearing. The paper in this insert has a bit of sheen and slickness to it which is really nice but the inks take a long time to dry. I tried switching pens because the Lamy was just so wet but even with the Pilot Metropolitan it was still smearing. I switched to Noodler's Q'Ternity which is the blue-black version of their fast-drying Bernanke ink and it works perfectly. No smearing at all. No bleed through. Minimal ghosting. The Midori papers are fabulous. The paper is really thin but I really like it for my scratch paper journal. I made a cover for it from an old pocket folder and use a Midori band to keep the cover in place and just slip in the back of my Traveler's Notebook so I can pull it out quickly and lay it flat. Works great.

Exactly what I wanted but BENT up in shipping
I have used this insert before, it has lovely fountain pen friendly paper and lots of pages since they are so thin - I think I read once Tomoe River Paper or like. Only drawback is that unlike ordering from a stationery store, the shipping is terrible, thrown into an oversized envelope and arrived creased and bent up. This is not the delivery person’s fault or due to the product, it’s a packaging and shipping issue so I do not recommend purchasing through Amazon as very little care was put into the handling of this softcover (cardstock) insert for a Traveler’s Notebook

Awesome
The paper is light and smooth, and handles fountain pen inks EXTREMELY well. I have a very wet writing Conway Stewart fountain pen and the ink from the pen won't bleed through this paper at all. There is ghosting to be sure, given that the paper is very thin, but this doesn't bother me at all and I write on both sides of the paper. Also appreciate that there are more pages than the regular TN inserts so I don't have to worry about running out of pages when I am busy scribbling away. Several other online vendors have listed that that the paper in this insert is 52 gsm Tomoe River. My Hobonichi Techo also has the same paper, but I find that the TN paper is a bit thinner than the one in my Hobonichi and definitely wrinkles more when I put watercolor on it. If you watercolor in your notebooks, yes, this paper will wrinkle a lot, but I actually really enjoy the "lived-in" look, but this may not be for everyone.

Unbeatable quality for the price
Much thinner than 80gsm. But still does not bleed through even with a fine fountain pen. Excellent quality. Nothing compares at this price. I use then to design my own calendar/agenda/journal. Plenty of sheets for the minimalist who doesn't want to carry much and still have a quality sturdy, thin notebook.

The most amazing paper!
I bought this lightweight insert as per the recommendation of many artsy YouTubers. When I first received it, I was excited and loved the smoothness. I was also worried that the onion thinness of it wouldn't hold up to expectations, but as soon as I put watercolor on it, I was blown away. For paper so thin, it handles wet inks so well and so beautifully! I use Staedtler Triplus Fineliners to journal, and they also wrote fantastically on this paper. I highly recommend this lightweight insert. It is the best paper I have ever used.Follow me on IG @lisasoddities for more examples of how great watercolor and fineliners look in this insert!
