They come in a 6w box but are brighter than the 6w bulbs I had
Hard to find these with the 8w rating, while 6w are very common. The extra light is just enough for my application where the 6w ones were a bit too dim. I like these in downfiring or bowl type fixtures to avoid most of the glare of led elements, but a lot of light is lost to the coating, so the extra brightness is great.The single box packs were labeled as 6w, but the bulbs are clearly 8w compared to my old 6w ones.

Flicker and don’t fully light up for a few seconds after a few months
I purchased a four pack of these for two flush mount fixtures within about a week. One of them wasn’t turning on fully or as bright as it should be for a few seconds so I swapped it out and then just recently a few months later that same thing is happening to The other fixture. So far two out of four have been duds I have purchased from other brands that were larger globes I only purchased from this brand because they offered a standard size bulb, but wouldn’t again.

LOOK GREAT, NOT SO BRIGHT
bought some relatively high-end gold lamps with shades, black on the outside, mirror gold on the inside. bulbs look great when peered thru the top of shade, but not so bright, really only mood lighting... just so you know!

Dim
You are claiming that these bulbs are equivalent to 80-watt incandescent lamps. When I placed the order last, they were rated as 75-watt equivalent. Now you’ve gone up 5 watts.These bulbs are dim… equivalent to approximately 40-watt incandescents. I ordered them to replace 60-watt equivalent LED’s, also ordered from Amazon, and these new so called “80-watt equivalent lamps” are dimmer than the “60’s”, and approximately equal to 40’s.Amazon, you need to do your own brightness measurements and confirm the voracity of the seller’s claims.

NOT 80 watt equivalent
The bulbs are beautiful when they are off. That is the nicest thing I can say about them. They are dim. Very dim. I would say 25 watt equivalent. If you want a little dim mood/night light, maybe this is for you. But I had to return as I needed brighter bulbs. Hopefully the next ones I order are as bright as they claim to be.

Great for low glare indirect lighting
Nice warm color, uniform construction and finish, haven't had them long enough to judge durability but I'm quite happy with them after the first few weeks.
