Small but mighty indeed!
Saved us again!I have a handful of these in our basement and underneath a few sinks. They work. The noise is loud. We had water coming in our basement and got a heads up and we were able to mitigate accordingly. They absolutely work! Highly recommend. Amazing value for just 10 bucks.

cheap and effective
just test they work initially. these have saved my butt several times. it really simple and cheap and have worked for years. just put them in the places that might get wet and the alarm will go off. saved me when my sump pump failed and when a toilet backed up

Saved us from a large restoration bill
Water pipe from outdoor faucet broke inside the house near the internal pipe valve sometime during the winter. When the hose was attached and water turned on this spring, it came through the split pipe and rained inside the house, down basement wall and onto on the basement floor, drywall, carpet and trim. The alarm detected the leak immediately and was loud enough to hear on the second floor, allowing us to quickly turn off the water - saving us from a more extensive repair bill. Will buy additional units and consider others with smart home connectivity to alert our phones in the future.

Excellent product!
Has been in my basement since 2020. Just had my first flood since then and it saved the basement from a major flood! Worked great!

Saved us thousands of dollars....
We had a mysterious leak in the bathroom in our basement. It ruined the carpet in the basement. To discover the issue, we called a plumber out, but the issue was not anything "normal" that could be found. And rather than spending the large amount of money to send a camera through the pipes and snaking - and perhaps still not finding anything, the plumber suggested we consider getting one of these leak detectors. So we opted for that. And man, am I glad we did. Twice since the mystery leak, I heard the detector alert. Once it was just something small, but the other time, it was a full-on leak in the bathroom again. I heard the alarm and made there just in time to throw a towel in front of the rising tide of water to stop it from getting into the hallway and ruining the carpet again. This little guy paid for himself 1000 times over!Pros:ReliableEasy to useInexpensiveReusableEasy to testCon:The ONLY negative I would say on these is that, although the alert sound is loud, it is not loud enough for someone to hear on the floor above while taking a shower (which is when this occurs at our house). But this is not the fault of the detector, just be aware if that is what you might need, consider something tied to alarm system or maybe wifi alerting or something. I cannot ding a star off for this though, considering the $$$$ this device has saved me.

Worthless. Irratically Alarms. In My TRASH CAN.
Worthless item. It alarms irratically, for no reason at all. After adding the batteries, I tested it, first, on dry tabletops in my living area, where I heard annoying alarms intermittently, at all hours of the day and night.Unable to figure out which one was alarming, I separated the 3 alarms. Turns out: 2 of 3 were doing that. So, I tossed 2 of the 3 that I had bought - into the trash. The third one is still here. But as I write this review, I'm afraid to use it, either. I'm now wondering if perhaps the defect it might work in various ways, so that, maybe it just won't ever alarm at all?? Who knows?? Guess I should throw away the last one of the 3, too. What a total waste of money!I have used a different brand, previously, and it worked as it should: Honeywell Water Leak Alarm, but mine are old (now under my sinks) and so I wanted to replace them with newer alarms. Stupid me, I thought such a simple item wouldn't vary by manufacturer. Lesson learned.

5 Star Product, 1 Star Packaging
The product is great, just what you would expect from Honeywell. Small, simple, and with a low battery warning like a smoke detector. Eventually we should probably all upgrade to detectors that alert us on our smartphones, but I plan to wait on that till the bugs are all worked out, and these are cheaper also. I bought 5 and all test out ok, so I hope they work properly if there is a leak. The alarm isn't super loud but is fine for me. Having it in the cabinet under the kitchen sink, with the cabinet doors closed, I can hear it all the way up in the bedroom on the second floor, with the bedroom door also closed. If you are playing a stereo or watching TV it would of course be harder to hear. The packaging is 1 star in my view because of the overly thick plastic you have to cut through to get at the product, and then the 5 minutes or so of time you will spend if you want to get all the double stick tape goo off the bottom of the unit. Have your Goo Gone ready! This is not a big deal of course, and doesn't affect my rating. Some people wrote it wobbles on the base. That only happens if you don't screw the base in all the way. It is easy to screw in all the way if you use a quarter in the slot to turn the base cover. I wonder if this was the issue for some other reviewers that stated it didn't go off at all or the alarm was delayed, since not screwing the base in all the way moves the electrodes up off the floor. This could be a significant distance off the floor if the unit also rocks on the base such that the electrodes are even higher. But there is no issue here if you screw the base in properly. One final note is I agree the wires for the battery attachment are a bit short, but if you are careful there shouldn't be an issue.
