Q: If I buy two mats and put them side by side, will it look continuous?

They will not. There is a tapered edge. I put two mats together with the tapered edge on top of each other and it looked good. However, buy the mats at the same time. I purchased the white with black triangles four months apart and one may was yellow while the other was white

Q: I need to travel with the mat - can I fold it tight into a suitcase or would it damage it?

The mat comes wrapped but it depends on your travel. In a suitcase? No. But in a minivan? Maybe. The mat is really big and doesn’t really fold easily.

Q: Could this be used as rug for our kitchen?

I was advised not to because the edges could cause a trip hazard. I ended up purchasing a kitchen-specific floor mat even though it was not as nice looking and more expensive. In retrospect, I was glad I did, the edges of my kitchen mat are designed for high traffic.
