Q: Dios this fit with Ibanez exotic wood guitar? To replace the original Ibanez preamp

I retrofitted an Ibanez acoustic electric that I own with this unit. It was not a plug and play fit. I had to modify and enlarge the body opening for the preamp unit and then fabricate and stain a strip of wood for the input jack/ battery compartment. Once it was installed it performed well and is a better unit than the original factory unit, which only last a couple of years before going south on me.

Q: will this allow me to hook up my non-electric acoustic guitar to an amplifier?

Yes, once you have installed it correctly, your non electric acoustic will become electric-acoustic. Just be sure to install the piezo pickup under the bridge correctly.

Q: Tuner works but I have no sound

The sound should work if there’s a good battery and all components are connected correctly. The tuner has to be turned on and feels the vibration. I have this rig and it works perfectly. Check your piezo strip. It might be broken or damaged. I have experienced that with these under saddle strips more than once. I suspect they don’t test them before shipping.

Don’t know like I said I had to trim mine to fit
