Works for 2-strokes
This seems to work on a 2-stroke. I'm checking timing on a snowmobile. The first unit I bought worked at first, then wouldn't work. The light wouldn't come on. I returned it via Amazon. This company immediately sent a new one. Which I received next day. Glad this one works and it's a good price.

Make sure it will work with your car.
Nice product and easy to set up. Operating instructions are somewhat difficult to follow. The RPM jumped around quite a bit. Light worked but I can't find the timing mark on my '95 4 Runner. Idle and ignition is computer controlled (ECM) on the vehicle. This timing light would probably work better on my old 1963 rambler with points and no ECM computer.

Good for the price
Works as advertised and is a good value. The instructions on using the advance feature are not real clear, but it is easy to figure out when you use it.

Weak Strobe light, no instructions.
Purchased this just recently, and i'm disappointed. First, there is no operating instructions, just safety and features information. Not sure what the advance buttons do. Next, the tach does work well, although the pickup has to be next to the distributor to work, and not sure if it is reading #1 calendar or not. Last but not least, the Strobe light is very weak. Could not use it with any day light or bright lights around. Had to wait until after dark to see the strobe light. Which, was blinking, but not sure if it was reading the right #1 cylinder or not, seemed to be jumping all around, plus not knowing how the advance buttons work, not sure how to time the engine..Bottom line, my opinion, I would not recommend this timing light unless you have a very dark garage and know how to use it without instructions.

Works great if
You're in a dark garage or it's night. The strobe is soooooo dim. With a cloudy sky I had to get my face inches away from my flywheel to see the marks. Aside from the terrible strobe it works great.I was compensated for my dissatisfaction so I bumped up a star for good customer service.
