Definitely worth trying
I bought the breastshells as I was in horrendous pain feeding my newborn baby - my nipples were cracked and bleeding and having my clothes touch them was agony. The shells worked really well for keeping my clothes away from my nipples and they were fairly comfortable to wear. They allowed air to get to my nipples as well which was quite soothing. On the negative side they give your breasts a funny shape through clothes (although if you're buying these because you're in pain then this is probably the least of your worries!). They seemed to stimulate a letdown for me as well so there would be quite a bit of milk collecting in the shells, which wasnt necessarily a problem but something to be aware of so that you're prepared to empty them every so often and not bend down to much while wearing them as the milk then comes out of the air holes! The major downside for me was that the shells, by necessity to stay in place, press into the skin around the nipple. This meant that when my baby wanted to feed my nipples weren't quite the right shape and it made it even more painful for me. However this could be down to the state my nipples were in and the way my baby was feeding. For the price these are definitely worth a go, even if they just give you half a days respite from anything touching your nipples.

hurt my breasts
I got them during the first month of breastfeeding because my nipples were very sore. I thought they could keep them away from touching the bra and help with healing. However, after 30 min I had a different problem - the round opening was cutting into the rest of the breast tissue and was hurting it. I had to stop using them. However, I have found them more useful later on to collect the milk from the other breast while breastfeeding. So, overall will end up using them.To sum up:1) Not great during the first month and don't help sore nipples, rather create more problems2) Useful once the breastfeeding is established to collect milk from the other breast during the feed

Don't bend down. At all.
These are at least wearable unlike another well-known brand that I bought and immediately returned. I find them comfortable and they don't look too odd. BUT you can't bend down at all if there's any fluid in them, you just end up as soaked as you would without them. If you're wearing these you're likely looking after a baby and maybe even another small child or two, which necessitates bending down quite a bit... I will probably keep using them to catch letdown (although it says not to keep the milk so there are other products that are better for that job too) during feeds but I doubt I'll wear them during the day as originally intended.

Good idea but one major issue!
Bought these for my wife who experienced the breast pads and bra were getting saturated with leaking breastmilk. Decided to get these one and thought the breathable ones to ensure no build up of bacteria etc or skin problems. One major issue with these breathing holes though! On more than one occasion my wife wore them forna couple of hours and continued with her normal bits and bobs. When bending down to pick up an item, all the milk leaked out into her bra and top!! This happened about 4 times and enough was enough. Have asked for a replacement to the normal ones without the holes. If you wear these, don't bend down!

Great for collecting milk let down
I bought these to give my nipples some breathing space as I have a deep crack on one from breastfeeding. They’re comfy to wear throughout the day as your bra keeps them in place.I didn’t realise just how much milk I would collect in it when feeding from the other side!! I easily collect 30ml before pumping from the injured side. The only downfall is I often forget I’m wearing it and bend down and it comes out of the top and a new bra and top are required!
