This is the 2nd one I've purchased. Using one on the east coast and one on the west coast, to permanently power outdoor SimpliSafe cams. Cable is very sturdy and seems quite weatherproof. Both cameras are installed under overhangs, one above a garage and one under a bay window bumpout. They've made the tip that goes into the camera's power port as small as they can and still seal well. Been powering the east coast camera for over a year now with no issues.

I actually believed the Simplisafe claim that the camera battery would last 1-2 months. I even bought an extra battery. Wrong. I live on a relatively quiet suburban street, adjusted the camera carefully, and so far the average battery lasts 5 DAYS. This UYODM unit is a no-brainer. The weather resistent connection fit well, and while I did not need all 25' of cable, I might someday if I move the camera. The part that is pure genius is that the USB cable is FLAT. Give yourself enough slack, work carefully, and most windows will close with the cable run underneat the lower sash. Brilliant. I just installed it today, so if it conks out in a few months I can't retract the review -- but from what I've seen so far, that won't be an issue. WELL DONE to UYODM

This worked perfectly for one of my cameras that was on an exterior garage and I was tired of having to hop on a ladder to change the battery. I never had any issues with it and that included an entire New Hampshire winter. I would recommend to anyone that has an outlet within range of their camera so they don't need to keep swapping batteries out, especially in the winter.
