I was a cabinet builder/finish carpenter for 40 years and these would be very hard for a layman to install IMO. Tiny half page color instruction atleast had English but could be so much easier with better instructions. Installed the second unit in just a few minutes after deciphering the jiberous. What is it with business these days? I buy a $2000 tv and get no-words pictoral 1 page instructions on one sheet of paper...just not right.BTW, works great!!!!!!!

As many other reviews has mentioned, the instructions are very bad - actually worthless. I watched videos from others who installed this and then just tried on my own. I both of them on a wood toy chest (and one screw broke while I was screwing it into pine!). In a nutshell, install the lid bracket first and then put the bottom bracket into the hinge and try to mark it, the best that you can, very near the back of the chest. If you watch the successful installation videos from others, you will notice that all of them have the bottom bracket installed essentially against the back wall (unlike the short video from the seller).Good Luck.....

We had an old cedar chest sitting around, and I finally cleaned it up and added these great safety hinges to the lid. They do a great job of keeping the lid up when needed and then slowly closing the lid in place. They were easy enough to install.
