Just received it today. Take this review with a grain of salt.It's sturdy, appears to made with quality and the surface adds grip. I hope it protects it from drops but hopefully won't be testing it. It fits into the Folio pocket I have, as if it was made for it. Yes, a little more than other protective cases but also learned, you get what you pay for. Well worth it, so far....

Probably one of the best folio cases for the surface pro 9. Little things that matter on this one over others, openings for the built in vents that leave clear unrestricted air flow on the vents around the tablet for better heat dissipation, I returned other cases because they were missing this. Overall it's stylish, looks good, opens up easily and sets easily and isn't very bulky but definitely looks like I can handle bumps.

After searching for so many cases, I've come to the conclusion that when it come to protection of you tech products including watches, laptops, phones, SPIGEN, just by the way it's designed, is by far the most reliable and long lasting tech protection brand.. Give it a try..

Helps to be able to use the tablet as a laptop on my lap

This folio fits very securely when the Surface keyboard is attached.When you don't have the keyboard it fits like that pair of pants where the waist size is 2" too large and they might fall down.Also cannot fathom when the hand strap would ever make sense.. ie. the SP8 is too heavy and the case too flexible. The strap is a great idea in theory and not very useful in practice.Perhaps I am asking for the impossible, but would like to see a folio which works both WITH and WITHOUT the keyboard.If you think you will usually have the keyboard installed (laptop mode), then this case would be a good option. If you think you want to often use without keyboard (as a tablet), then I think there has to be a better option.
