I wish I had this easy gift many years back. I'm sure my kids will find this very useful.I put a bug and a lice under this tiny microscope 🔬and believe me "I got scared" seeing it in great detail. My 5 year old loves looking through it. Was hard to focus at first, light is dim buuuut... The learning was priceless. For the price, these is absolutely perfect for a beginner and by beginner I mean has never even heard of a microscope before. Plastic is cheap and feels like it would break easy, but what microscope wouldn't break if man handled to hard? We had fun with it and that's all that matters to me.

I bought this as part of a "clean room" scenario for a zombie room for Halloween and it was perfect. You might not want to buy this if you're expecting a real, good quality microscope, this is a toy. It works in its own way but it is a toy, not a "real" one and the viewing quality is equal to the value. It looks great though and I think would be good for younger kids (but not too young, it comes with glass plates). Overall I love the look of it and it was absolutely perfect for my intended, decorative use.

Now I knew this was cheap but I didn’t realize how bad that would make it. It’s made with very very cheap weak plastic.If you touch the microscope the lens is going all over the place. There is no way to look at one spot and keep it there.Focusing is also all over the place. If you manage to get it focused somewhat you have to keep your hand steadily on the knob as letting go will move it. Looking through it causes the microscope to shift and twist around.Its just really pretty useless. At best don’t expect to use more then the lowest zoom and even then it’s going to suck. On mine the eye piece just pops off. I can’t imagine many uses for this thing. It would be frustrating to use with kids since it doesn’t stay in focus and moves around in a breeze.It comes with some slides but they are weird plastic that you out a sticker over. I bought glass slides for my first use so now am not only out the money for the bad microscope but the cost of the slides I have nothing to use them with.Spend a bit more and look for metal not plastic I would suggest or at least digital so you can take a picture if you manage to get it in focus. Somethings just can’t be made cheap I guess.

My son is 7 and he wants to be a scientist. This was great trying on how to use a microscope. He really enjoyed learning about the solutions to use and what he could see between the lines.It's plastic but works.
