Freeze Dried Durian Chunks, 2 Ounces, Durian Fruit for Snacks and Baking Food

I'm writing for those who read reviews. Having traveled in southeast Asia, I found that people either love or hate durian with little to say in between. In Singapore, I know that it is illegal to take a durian on the public buses. The fruit smells awful, even before it is removed from its dangerously spiky husk, but I love the sweet taste and creamy texture of the fresh fruit and the crunchy texture of the freeze-dried. It is very healthy for you and might also make you just a little bit giggly.So if you have never tried durian, you may or may not like this, but don't be confused by the disparity in the reviews. Because one person hated it, doesn't mean you will.As for the price, of course it is very high for something that's been processed and imported. Yet too bad since I could buy an entire durian for $1.50 in Bali. Oh well, sigh!I like this one, very sweet and I enjoy the crunch. I buy it because I cannot get the fresh or frozen fruit where I live in the U.S.

This is a very small bag of freeze dried durian pieces. Bag says it's from China, I'm guessing it's processed in China, but the durian is probably from Thailand or Vietnam. It doesn't say though where the durian is from. Durian is semi crunchy, it should be crunchier like what I had before, but I think there might be some moisture that got into it to make it less crunchy. It is good and sweet. The smell I don't think is very strong but my dog ran to me when I opened the bag. LOL! He loves durian! It is pretty expensive for this small bag, wish the price was lower.

The quality and freshness of this freeze-dried durian is excellent. Two ounces seemed small upon ordering this, but its actually a good size, resealable bag, with maybe twelve or so pieces. I’ve always wanted to try durian, and now that I have, I can say it’s not for me. The smell is strong, but not so bad, but I did not care for the sharp flavor. It seems to be an acquired taste, with our family being split pretty evenly between those who loved it, and those (including myself) who really did not. All of us felt pretty strongly one way or the other.

I love trying new foods but I am very disappointed with this. Not really any flavor just big chunks of smelly rock hard substance
