The perfect SSD enclosure!
I really like and appreciate the included heat sink and heat-conductive padding. In heavy use of the drive, the case now gets fairly warm (about 50 degrees C on a MacBook), but the SSD (not included) works fine at these temps. Well made and nicely sized.

Major overheating issues, unstable with macOS Ventura with Sabrent 2TB Gen4 SSD
Drive initially recognised and formatted fine, then macOS rebooted because of an error and the drive would no longer appear. Trying again later, the drive appears for a minute or so then spontaneously disconnects. This appears to be linked to overheating which happens rapidly with the Sabrent 2TB Gen4 NVMe I'm trying to use. Letting it fully cool down, the drive stays connected a bit longer but disconnects as soon as you use it a bit more.Despite claims of good thermal performance, the design of the enclosure is actually very bad for heat dissipation - It comes with one thermal pad and a metal cover to place on the M.2 stick, but this doesn't make contact with the outer metal casing at all, so if your SSD runs hot very little heat will be conducted to the outside. Thanks for wasting my time on Christmas eve with such a poorly designed and tested product, will be returning this

Works well
This enclosure works perfectly. Only thing to note is that it doesn't work with older SSD drives, only nvme.

Very fast, but does get hot.
Fast, as advertised and demonstrated on youtube, small, but does get rather warm. Some have suggested using it to keep drinks warm...Personally I am going to keep it on the laptop cooler or get an "AC Infinity MULTIFAN" or similar to put under it (like the mac mini's fan), both of these options will keep it a lot cooler for a lot less than the other housings.

Very usefully for expending a MacBook pro hard drive
I use this with a Crucial P3 Plus 4TB 5000 Mbps ssd.Note that 5000 Mbps is approximately 40 Gbps, thus such pairing is perfect.Using this case with a 4TB ssd is the best way to max the volume per cost ratio.Using this pair, I got a fast 4TB extension for my MacBook pro for less than $380.No issues of over heating and slowing even after intense continues work (video editing).

Really hot item
Works great with my Mac M4. I get read/write speeds as advertised using an Orico 7400 2TB SSD.The case stays so hot that you can barely touch it, which I guess means it is dissipating heat. However I only use this for a daily backup, and it is red hot even when it hasn't been in use. I get a case temperature of 121.6 F when it hasn't even been used for 23 hours.interesting that only other flash drive I have that gets this hot is an Orico 256G thumb drive, so must be the way this company designs them to work.So functions well, but keep your oven mitts handy.

Peace of mind purchase
All-n-all this enclosure is one of the best if not the best value for the money - It does work beautifully with a 4TB nmve SSD and does not overheat - My only issue with it is, that using the USB-C one must bend the USB-A rubber strap hard because some ports are seated deeper in the system and the rubber gets in the way. If they made a groove to accommodate the rubber strap to move into that would work flawlessly.

little fastener came loose, poor build quality makes it useless
It worked fine for a while, but there's a small brass fastener of some kind that attaches to the PC board and holds the "back" side of the SSD in place, and that fastener fell off. I could hear something rattling inside. When I opened the case, I found the SSD was floating around, no longer plugged in, and I can't see any way to get the brass fastener back in place. So now this case is basically useless because of this tiny part and flaw in build quality. I will try contacting Orico for a possible solution.Another comment I have is that the case is a lot bigger than it needs to be. Of course the mass of aluminum helps with heat control, but this case has a lot of dead space inside and I have some 4TB SSDs from Kingston and Sabrent with fixed external cases that are way smaller and give exactly the same speed and performance of this much larger case with no issues of heat. So I really regret buying this oversized case because one of my key concerns is portability.
