I was tired of the wires hanging from my Dash Cam down to the cigarette lighter. I purchased this as well as Pico 0956PT 10 Amp ATM Mini Blade Fuse Add-A-Circuit Fuse Holder. With very little trouble I was able to install this from the camera to under the dash on the drivers side and then used Mini Blade fuse and some 20 gage wire from the fuse box in the engine compartment to the harness. I grounded the harness to the underside of the dashboard mount (it must be attached to steel to work) and soldered the harness to the 20 gage wire. Full install took about 2 hours, but it certainly could be done in less than an hour as I spent quit a bit of time figuring out how I wanted to do the install. As i used the mini blade fuse I simply cut out the inline fuse and discarded it. I have seen some folks discussing stereo issues from these installs and have had no issue with that. This was for a 2005 Dodge Ram 4x4.

Excellent product for dash cam installations. This product helps facilitate quick installs in any vehicle. Most unhappy purchasers have written complaints which can all be easily remedied.First, in regards to the length of the cable, the small box on the charging unit can be easily hidden under the dash or in the A-pillar. This can be done without obstructing the airbag and any air vent if there is one. If hidden in the A-pillar, the small box is kept cool and you still have plenty of cable to get to the center of your windshield to the camera.Second, the manufacturer specifically instructs the user/installer to add additional cable if needed to the end that connects to power ONLY. It warns not to splice the USB side of the product. This can easily be done so long as you place the box in the A-pillar.Great product!!!!

Bought this cord about a year ago to hard-wire my Rexing dashcam with. No problems at all and would highly recommend the cord and the company in general as I had another cord for. GPS unit that failed after one year of use – but the company replaced the cord free of charge and it was no hassle at all.Happy customer and would recommend both this cord and the company.

This product works as it's advertised, but comes with some irritating side effects. I've had both the early version (without the filter) and the newer version with the RF filter. Both have caused FM radio interference in my 2016 Toyota Tundra. The filtered is much better, but the radio reception is still negatively impacted. I have no interference issues using the plug that came with the camera.

As others have said, it may not be long enough for many people. I tried using this in my Lexus LS430 but it was just barely too short to make it to the passenger side fuse box. I still used it to tap into the power going to my map light cluster. There is a 14ga insulating wire cover over the 24ga power wires. Yes, they are tiny and fragile, but that's the same gauge as most wires in a car harness with similar power draws. I did find it somewhat difficult to strip the 14ga cover off the inner wires, so be careful if you need to do the same. There is also a red LED in the voltage regulator box to indicate power. Even though this will be hidden after installation, I still thought this was a nice feature to have during installation & testing.If you have a full-sized sedan or mid-large SUV, get something longer. Otherwise, it works fine with my A118c dash cam.

I just installed this last weekend. I had to pull my dashboard apart to route it through the "A" pillar and get it to the top of the windshield where I have my camera mounted. But it went fine and only about the last 3 inches are visible. The camera turns on when I start the car and turns off with the car. And when I upgrade my dash-cam, I can still use this! Definitely the way to go.

I spliced power ends into mirror taps from an existing cable I had before , Powered up my dash cam with no problems. Would highly recommend if you plan on using for powering up dashcam or usb low voltage accessory.
