I love these pants!!
As a concrete worker, I need pants that can withstand the demands of the job while still allowing me to move freely. The Carhartt Men's Rugged Flex Slim Fit Canvas 5-Pocket Tapered Work Pants have become my absolute go-to, and here's why:**Built for Movement:** These pants are designed with Rugged Flex® stretch technology, which means they move with me, not against me. Whether I'm squatting, bending, or climbing, I never feel restricted. The slim fit is perfect because it's not too baggy, so I don't have extra fabric getting in the way.**Durable and Tough:** Concrete work is rough on clothes, but these Carhartt pants can handle it. The canvas material is thick and durable, resisting tears and abrasions. I've even snagged them on rebar a few times, and they haven't ripped!**Comfort is Key:** Despite their ruggedness, these pants are surprisingly comfortable. The material is soft and breathable, which is important when you're working hard all day. They also have a comfortable fit in the waist and seat, so I don't feel constricted.**Style Points:** Let's be honest, most work pants aren't known for their style. But these Carhartt pants have a modern, tapered fit that looks great both on and off the job site. I can easily go from work to grabbing a drink with friends without feeling like I need to change.**Functional Design:** The five pockets are perfectly placed and sized for carrying all my essentials, like my phone, keys, and wallet. The reinforced front slash pockets are great for holding my knife and other tools.*****Overall:** The Carhartt Rugged Flex Slim Fit Canvas pants are the perfect combination of comfort, durability, and style. They're built to withstand the toughest jobs while still looking good. If you're looking for a pair of work pants that can keep up with you, these are the ones to get.

They are actually Tapered Slimmer fit
I do not like the Barrel Leg fit of most carharrt pants. It’s a struggle to find slim fit or tapered pants. These are actually tapered but not too tight. I love these pants. These are much softer than the duck material. These have a great stretch to them. I highly recommend them.Notice: the waist does run small. I am a 38 and the 38 fits snug after a wash. They do stretch out to a 39 or so. Just keep this in mind when ordering. It’s hard because they definitely stretch a size up after a day. They shrink again after wash. I wish they had a cell phone pocket. The small zipper pocket on the left is useless to me. I do not know what it’s really for. I would happily trade it for a cell phone pocket. These have a stitch at the knee you can kind of feel. It goes away after an hour or so. I think it’s necessary for the taper so it’s worth it.

Pants for the worker that actually work for you.
Jobsite work runs through your time, materials, body and of course, your clothes. Pants are regularly worn through, cut open or just worn out. Carhartt is a reliable brand in working apparel but now I know they are the only brand making pants to solve this exact problem. These pants are triple threaded at the seams and waistline with additional hemming at the knees to keep them from stretching or tearing when your up and down all day. A zip up compartment above the front left pocket was incredibly useful for my wallet, drill bits, small specialty parts and even business cards for quick but safe access. Belt loops are strong and pant cuffs are heavy enough to stay over your boots without weighing you down. So after some long hard use in the field, up and down stairs, back and forth thru houses then there and back again thru mud, rain and all the elements we all fight out here, I can tell you that they have lasted better than any other work pants I've bought before them, and will undoubtedly be the ones I buy from here forward. The new standard for a man that ruins more clothes for work than he owns in his personal time.

Fit is great, design and quality not so much
The tag on these says "Slim Fit" -- not straight like this listing says. Probably just a branding/name change that hasn't been updated everywhere yet. I generally wear 36x30 in most pants, but after reading reviews, I decided to size up to a 38 waist and I'm glad I did. I think the 36 would have fit, but likely would have been tight. I prefer the looser fit anyway. These definitely seem way longer than a 30 inseam, maybe a 34. I wish they came in a 28 inseam like some other Carhartt pants. I have to put about 3 rolls in the bottom of these to hit where I like, which is just kind of covering the top of my 6" work boots.I agree with some other reviews that the zipper pocket doesn't really make sense. It's super small and just makes the left side of the pants feel bulkier than it needs to be. The other thing that I find a little annoying is the location of the belt loops. I usually clip my keys to one of the right belt loops with a carabiner, then stuff them in my right back pocket, but the loop on these is too far forward to do that.**Editing this review to remove a star because I've had a couple pairs of these for about a year now and the durability has not been great. These pants develop holes in random places where you aren't even putting wear and tear on them. And the places where you are putting wear and tear wear holes super fast. Both pairs I own have random holes in the legs in addition to wear and holes in the knees, crotch, back pocket, etc. The material is not very thick and seems to develop holes on its own.
