I spray it on their brush.
My 2 were not too keen on the spray, I put it on their brush and run it through. So far has worked well and smells great.

This is brilliant stuff. My dog doesn't like it much as its strong smelling but no ticks or fleas

Don't waste your money
It really simply doesn't work in anyway. Don't waste your money.I have been using this spray for a few weeks and I also decanted some into a bottle with a dropper, as the cats hate the hissing of the spray. I used the droppers around the cats, ears, necks and heads and then use a comb to spread the liquid across their fur and skin. I did this on a regular basis throughout the week.I have used this along side other natural measures (combing out the fleas and floor lamp which has caught a few fleas) to get rid of or repel flies from my cats. I used this spray hoping it would repel the fleas off my cats, without using chemicals. Well it simply does not do this, this is demonstrated by the amount of fleas I combed off one of my cats. There were still tons of them. I comb them off and then drown the fleas in a cup of water and washing up liquid.Also the cats hate the smell of this. They love getting combed, but as soon as I apply the liquid in a concealed way, they clearly sniff the aroma and run away!Waste of money.

Nice fragrance but naturally, my cats being cats, mostly hate it
Smells good and I can imagine the essential oils have a natural deterrent effect, but there is no way I can spray it directly on my cats...they see it and run a mile. So I spray it onto my hand before fussing them. They aren't mad on it but I think its one more product n the armoury.
