Completely Satisfied--but I bought more than I needed!
I did some research and really liked what I read about this product. I got it to protect a hand-made wood planter, so I needed something that is safe for growing food in! I applied the oil outside, as recommended. The oil does smell, and although it's not a bad smell, I definitely would not want to expose my pets to it by using it indoors. The first coat was heavy: the untreated wood soaked it up! I did a second coat as planned, using up the small bottle as planned--it was just enough. After that, I read on the company web site that something that would be outside in the weather a lot might need several coats. I decided to buy another larger bottle to do that. I found, though, that the first two coats really were doing their job, and the third coat barely needed any to cover it! I am probably going to leave it at three coats for now and keep the rest of the oil for touching up. (Maybe I will store it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh? We'll see.) On the whole, I am very satisfied. I just did not need as much as I second-guessed I would! Trust the initial advice on how much to buy -- the company has it on their web site. By the way, the wood looks great! I would definitely buy this again.

Seems To Be Good Stuff. Brings Out Color. No Harsh Fumes.
This was recommended to me by a woodworker for outdoor cedar. I was interested because it is much less toxic and easier/safer to work with than many paints, poly's or stains. The application is easier than most products. It goes on exactly like tung oil. Actually, it the main ingredient is tung oil so that makes sense. There are no Harsh Fumes. That doesn't mean it doesn't have a strong oder, it just isn't harsh. It actually smells good...like lemon or orange oil.The wood's grain and color comes out after only one coat. It adds a richness right away. It doesn't really darken the wood. It just promotes the wood's color. The first coat will use a lot of oil. I was concerned that I would not have enough for my planters during the first coat but additional coats take less oil. I did 5 coats (probably excessive) and I ended up having plenty.I just applied this product a week ago so I don't know how it will hold up. We have had inches of rain since I applied it and ni color loss. But I have seen how it does after a few months of summer sun. So far, I think it's a great, safer product than alternatives. Happy with purchase.

Looks great on cedar fence pickets
Made a planter box for my mom with Lowe's cedar fence pickets and planer them for smooth surface. The oil brings out the colors in the cedar and it looks great. Specifically got this because it's safe for planters and my mom plans on planting some veggies for eating.

Smells like an orange?
Looks very good and I’m happy to have a natural protector. I used on a cedar potting bench and the oil didn’t really dry totally. I painted one coat two weeks ago and then put it together today and my hands were a little oily. Okay, fine. But it smells so strongly of orange that it’s overpowering and still two weeks later it’s overpowering? How? I’m so confused that no one else has mentioned this.

Good for raw wood that is kept outside.
I used this for a new set of Bee boxes that are cypress and I do not plan to paint. As with most oil type finishes a little goes a long way. Follow the instructions and apply with a foam brush and allow to soak in a little and wipe the excess off and/or spread to another area. Allow to dry thoroughly before applying the next coat. Several light coats are better than one heavy. Th is bottle was enough for 2 complete hives. BTW, I only put it on the outside of the hive, not the inside.

Beautiful results, easy to use
The media could not be loaded. I have outdoor furniture that is made from Pine. After years of being outside, it turned gray and so I wanted to refinish it to make it look pretty again. I did some research and using stain and polyverethane was going to be a lot of sanding and coating, sanding and coating and the smell is terrible and I knew I'd have to do it in my garage. So I found tung oil and bought this brand. It is so easy to use and I put four coats, and it goes on really easy. The furniture turned out beautiful. It made the wood darker the only thing is that it does have a very strong lemony smell and to some people it is too potent. They didn't like it in my family even my cat, but I didn't mind the smell. The smell does linger after a while but I'm sure it will go away eventually.I power washed the furniture, let it dry in the sun and then sanded it once. Each piece has 4 coats of oil.
