The Mummy [Blu-ray] [2017]

This is a great movie and I found it hard to stop watching once I started. I am certainly going to watch it again very soon

(cruise) a soldier and his mate on a reconnaisance mission in iraq.they are attacked and a large crater appears .deep ,dark they come across a tomb of HARAM dripping with liquid mercury and the egyption tomb gaurds facing inwards instead of out.the sarcofacus flown by Hercules attracts danger and evil.cruise is the chosen one of the pharoahs princess daughter scorned by the birth of a son to her father from another of the pharaohs wives.after killing her father and the baby boy ,she makes a pact with seth.god of death.hidden in a deep cavern in England the nights Templar at peace guard the sacred dagger to bring seth (the god of death and eternal life) back from the dead.the chosen ,the soldier(cruise).fantastic special effects.as the film intensifies as a dr.hyde (jekyll & hyde) tries to make a pact with the chosen one.a 1 hour 48 minute film.action,a good film to see.RECOMMEND

I thought I'd chance my arm on this despite hearing the poor reviews from professional critics. Well I'm glad I did.I enjoyed it with its mix of Brendan Frasers Mummy (BFM), American Werewolf in London, league of extraordinary gentlemen and Indiana Jones. A good fast pace, humour dashed in throughout and good effects. It has more than a passing nod to BFM and a certain book from that film makes a brief but funny appearance.Its not a great piece of cinematic history, but it is fun and engaging. I was surprised at the amount of really low rated reviews but then I noticed that very few were verified purchases.I will say that its not a horror, at no point did I jump or have any sense of fear/apprehension, in my mind a 12 rating would suffice.The extras on the DVD are quite good but in some places it turned into a bit of a Tom Cruise love fest but still entertaining and informative.For me its going to be one of those DVDs that on a Saturday night when the TV has nothing on worth watching, you grab a beer, a slice of pizza pop this in and press play to give you a pretty good night, I cant think what more I want from a film than that.

The mummy is a decent film. It's got great 3d and a cool story , it's supposed to be the first in a series of films. I don't know if universal will go on with the series. The series would revolve around the main character played by tom cruise as he goes about his adventures. IN this one we get a powerful evil princess who wants to remake her kingdom. We have great effects in this film as well. IT's not a great movie but few horror films are. This IS a fun movie though and in 3d it's even better. The blu ray looks great as well.

It's a movie. I watched it

Having years ago watched the Mummy trilogy with Brendan Fraser I was not too sure how I felt when I heard that there was a new Mummy film coming out but with it being a completely different take on the film I decided it would be worth a try despite the negative reviews and comments I had seen and heard.This film sees Tom Cruise running (sound familiar?) as his character becomes embroiled in a battle that will push him to the edge. The acting overall is pretty good but there are some scenes where I felt that the acting was not as good as it could have been and also a few times I felt that the special effects were not what I would expect but overall this film was an OK watch. If you sat down and broke down the film to someone then there are plenty of things you would be able to criticise but films are about escapism and so this does manage to do what it sets out to in that respect even if it is not as well as it could have been done.This film set out to be the first in a new franchise of dark universe films and sees Jekyll & Hyde in the film which I found a really bad decision but I think that they saw this as a big budget way to open up the new world that they could do this to tease what else would be to come but for me they should have stuck to worrying about how this film would turnout as this would have probably given a better overall result and meant that they would still be set to bring more films in the dark universe rather than looking at something that has failed before it even really began.

Enjoyed

It was more enjoyable than I expected and completely different from the original Brendan Fraser trilogy. It's a typical TC action film which is no bad thing and overall a great standalone movie
