Autoglym Paint Renovator 325ml - Car Paint Restorer Revives Colour and Shine, Removes Fine Scratches and Haze, Silicone Free Formula

I bought this, a bit sceptical as to whether or not it could do the job. I had sun cream hand prints from our children (and probably us too!) on our metallic silver Vauxhall Astra. This happened a few years ago and despite trying different cleaners including by recommendation white spirit, (which partially removed it) nothing worked.This however, did the job. I had bought it from French Amazon and the instructions were in French. I rinsed the car then washed it thoroughly, then leathered it off. I began by using it all over the bonnet, wanting an even finish. I thought that it was going to be a long job and that I would run out of the product. I came in for a cup of tea and read Autoglym's instructions on their website. This told me just to do the affected parts! I went back out and did so. I was worried about there being a visible difference in the places that I had not used the renovator. But there are none that I can see. The difference is amazing. I have done three sides of the car now and have added some photographs in order that you can see the difference. Both sides were in a similar state.It also disguises fine scratches very well.The car is 12 years old (we've had it for 11) this year and low mileage. I had spoken to my wife recently about having it resprayed as it is a nice car and not worth updating as our cost to change, to get the same thing would be excessive. I will not bother now, I am so impressed with the product.I have actually bought the Super Resin Polish in order to improve on what I have done. The car has not been garaged and for the past nine years has suffered the searing heat (50c one year) and down to -20c for a couple of Winters, of the weather in South-West France.The first three photographs are of the side to be done. The last two are of the cleaned side. It really is clear. Any imperfections that you think you can see are reflections.

This is a fairly good product for getting rid of very light scratches, but it's no match for T-Cut or rubbing compound for getting rid of more significant or persistent ones.What has made it worth the money, 10 times over, for me is its the only thing I've found that will reliably get rid of sun tan cream marks! I'd read a 101 suggestions for getting rid of paintwork damage caused by sun cream laden hands but this is the only thing I've found to work without a lot of pain and effort. Simply rub the renovator over the paintwork, wait a bit, then use a clean cloth to rub it off again - all with little or no elbow work! Then a simple wax after and your car is as good as new!The most annoying thing about the product though, is tgere are no English instructions. So, I just rubbed it over the paintwork, left it a few mins, then buffed it off and applied a bit of car wax after so the paint was protected.

If you follow the instructions then this is a good product. At first I was applying with a too light touch, but then used more pressure and not too much product on the applicator and I ended up with a much better result. Polished out the scratches by the the door handle of a black car quite well.For me the big advantage of this product is that it can be used safely by hand and there is no need to use a machine polisher.

Overall good product but don’t expect miracles. It’s more for scuffs and marks that are on the paintwork not in as scratches that took out some of the paint.

This is the best for my car’s colour

Managed to scuff one of the passenger doors on my metallic paint grey car and gave this a go. Very pleasantly surprised as it seemed to remove some and mask others very well and far better than I expected. I was previously going to spend hundreds of pounds for a respray but now think I can live with the appearance. Secret was to apply some with a sponge applicator for a few minutes and buff with a cloth and then do again if needed. Be patient and make sure the damaged area is as clean as possible. Scuffing was previously visible on the door from the other side of the road whereas now you need to be up close and shining a torch into the paintwork to notice them. As recommended on the bottle, I used Autoglym super resin polish afterwards which improved the look even more. One thing to note is it will NOT get rid of all scratches but will mask/improve the appearance hence the 4 stars not 5.
