I love it
I don't know what all the other reviewers are moaning about, I love this chair. I got mine a bit cheaper than full price, but not by much (Warehouse Deal) and consider it worth the new price, easily. Because of the the negative reviews, I was dubious, but so many are sold in pairs, and I only needed one, which reduced the choice. I also didn't want to spend £70 or more, so decided to try this out.. am glad I did now. I can only think that others have received defective products, but then Amazon will surely sort it out, including if it breaks after the 30 days but before it reasonably should. Regarding returning, though, be aware: it comes in quite a big box (100 x 67 x 16 cm). I find it easy to change position within the chair: it moves very easily, and I am short, skinny and weak, and can both unfold, carry, and change positions when seated with ease. You can leave the loops on the arm rests in the open position, then you can change your position through leaning back or forward (I also rest my feet on the foot rest and kind of pull up/push down with my feet to make it easier). As others have pointed out, it's easier to move your position if you're sitting right back in the chair. Or if you place the loops in the other position, you can lock the chair in one position, and to me, the locks seem robust enough and so far, seem to work well in all positions. What I would say, though: I am 5" and the foot rest is in just the correct position for me, so if you're tall with long legs, am not sure how comfortable this would be, as I suspect the foot rest would be under your legs or ankles. But upwards, there's room: I had to move the cushion down about 20 cm or 8" (measured from the bottom of the top bar), so upwards, there's room for someone taller, just not downwards.. The chair is comfortable in all positions for me, and it feels sturdy enough, both the frame and the fabric. I think the strain on the fabric is probably the weakest spot with these chairs, but I can't see the fabric tearing any time soon. However, if you weigh anywhere close the maximum this chair is rated for (120 kg), I would maybe consider a more heavy duty option. You can buy replacement cords for these, but imagine it's quite a job, re-threading it all, and I suspect the fabric would tear before the cords break. One other thing: it comes fully assembled. I was puzzled by the offer of "expert assembly", but that must refer to unpacking and unfolding the chair. The only negative I can see was that the bottom of the frame was slightly scratched in places, but mine was used and it's on the bottom. It probably won't last forever, but expect to get a good few years out of it. Overall, am very pleased, and would recommend, bearing in mind the foot rest issue for taller people, and that the weight rating might be a bit on the optimistic side.. Will try and add a pic once the weather permits.

... mixed reviews these do seem to be just as good as much more expensive similar items
Despite mixed reviews these do seem to be just as good as much more expensive similar items. They do take a bit of getting used to opening and closing and, importantly, great care in doing this as the potential to break fixing points is high. I don't see that as any different in more expensive models I have seen and tried. One criticism is that there are in some areas, not many, still some rough finishing that lets it down and could lead to cutting of figers in the opening/closing process, hence only 4 stars. Otherwise does exactly what it says and very comfortable.

Great chair
Cannot fault the recliner in any way, seems very strong, robust and VERY comfortable, just the job for the garden. There are a couple of things that I can fault but nothing to do with the chair, one was the packaging, came in a very large like plastic mailing bag, on the bottom of the standing edge were two tares which had gone through the bag and marked the metal and the fabric slightly but nothing that concerned me but it could have been worse, probably been dragged across a rough surface, a cardboard cover on the end edges would have protected this. the other complaint was that I paid for next day delivery which didn't happen but I got postage refund from Amazon. Just a thing that might help, when I tried to unfold the chair, all the pivot joints were slightly stiff, a minimum spray of WD 40 and it glides open so easily now, also, found that It was easier not to use the locking mechanism.

Super recliner
I bought this for lounging in the back garden,I am pleasantly surprised that it is good quality and very comfortable,I am a 12 stone 5foot 5inch man and I find this very easy to use,it comes fully assembled and has two locks one on either side to lock it in position when reclined but you don't need to use them as your weight stops it from going back up,to recline it just sit back in it and put your hands on the arm rests and gently push, you will then recline and if younare positioned just right your weight will stop you from going back up,my black material one has a grey painted frame and it comes with an adjustable head rest which will slide up/down about 10 inches, for less than 28 pounds it is a real bargain,I will be putting it away when not in use,I recommend

It's OK
It's pretty good for it's price (£32 currently, I got it at £39) but it has a few serious shortcomings.* It's got no lumbar support. I certainly need a small pillow on my back.* It doesn't recline enough to be "zero-gravity". It's comfortable but not quite there.* It's too short! I'm 180 cm and about 15-20cm of my feet are over the fabric, resting uncomfortably over the metal rail.* The locking mechanism is just a plastic nob that you turn to jam the moving metal rail. It's not good enough to lock it into place, though I suppose it depends on the position and the weight of the user. I'm "normal" but the locking feature is practically useless.I'm satisfied with it's build quality, for the price. There are some reviews saying theirs broke early, but I haven't had any problems so far (two weeks). The packaging was a banged-up cardboard box from a completely different product (a swing) but the chair arrived in perfect condition.

Brilliant
Best bargain Iv had this year Super comfortable Very sturdy Just took me 5 min to figure out to lay it back But once I got the hang of it was super easy You have to use the power in your back and legs to get the chair back So maybe not a great buy for older people but fantastic buy
