Fantastic product that has many beneficial uses.
The A-Zoom 30-06 Snap Caps exceded my expectations. When being active in the firearms community you run into your fair share of malfunctions and user errors. I have cycled these Snap Caps many times through my Remington 700 SPS and it still gives 100% reliability during feeding and extracting. The rounds fit perfectly in the floor plate and are just a smooth as brass so scratches in the action are not prevalent at all. It's also very important to highlight the serious benefit with training with snap caps, these are highly recommended for anyone in the firearm realm. You can use these to simulate ammunition failures, such as putting live rounds in the gun and firing until you load the Snap Cap. When it malfunctions, simply practice the manipulation required to remedy the situation. After a few training sessions with these, you will be noticable more proficient with your equipment. One of the largest reasons I wanted this product was to protec my firing pin while dry-firing. Contrary to popular belief, you can indeed break off your firing pin by dry-firing it copious amount of times; I have had many people with experience of failing firing pins tell me that it was during their dry firing practice that the pin broke.I have tried to purposely load the Snap Caps the incorrectly in the action of my 700, but each time my rifle was able to re-orient the rounds and successfully engage the extractor. As I aforementioned, zero feeding and loading issues. I have noticed the the length of the "bullet" portion of the Snap cap if you will is not up to the same specifications as live ammunition, but the reasons for doing that are sure to be for reliability reasons and are completely acceptable to me.The hard Crimson Red anodized coating is holding up well on the main body, but isn't fairing well on the lip portion were the extractor resides. I do see after a few thousand cycles these S.C. would need to be replaced; the 700's extractor is an unforgiving one if one uses the rip and pull method on the bolt. But untill then, they will spend their lives function checking, failure training, and dry-firing. I hope this review was helpful, if there are any questions feel free to ask!P.S. I highly recommend keeping the packaging to keep these from rolling everywhere.

Works perfectly if used CORRECTLY!
I just purchased an M1 Garand rifle and needed something to practice loading with. I've never had any training with this rifle and I would have to be insane to try and teach myself with live rounds. These snap caps appeared to fit the bill so I ordered a total of 8 rounds. As I first started using them, I found that in any given clip I would have a jam with 25-50% of the rounds either not ejecting properly or not ramming home properly. I began to wonder if there was a problem with the snap caps, the clip, or worse, the rifle itself. After spending the evening doing this over and over again, I was able to confirm that the problem was operator error and there was nothing mechanically wrong at all.See, the Garand is a semi-auto rifle where the blowback of the previous round causes the bolt to load the next round while sliding home. In other words, with explosive force. Obviously, with the snap caps, I had to manually operate the bolt handle in order to eject the rounds and load the next one. But I was only applying about as much force to the charging handle as I would a bolt action rifle. As in, nowhere near explosive force. By Garand standards, I was using delicate kid gloves. It isn't so much that tons of force is needed to eject the spent rounds, but the rifle is designed to absorb and redirect the explosive energy into reloading and seating the bolt properly for the next round. By using so little force, it wasn't fully closing and thus, the retraction claw wasn't fully engaging on the round, leaving it in the breach when I pulled the charging handle. Thus causing the next round to jam.Once I realized I was treating my rifle too delicately, I pulled the handle with a more appropriate level of force and ever since then I have had no trouble going through clip after clip without a single jam. Thanks to these snap caps, I was able to work out the bugs of loading my rifle properly in a safe environment, without being a danger to myself or others with live rounds. And you can't put a price on something like that.

Just right
If you go to most gun shops, these snap caps are a little too expensive. However, Amazon prices for the most part are affordable. Great snap caps, durable

Practice for an M1 Garand
I'm a recent M1 Garand owner and thought it would be wise to practice on inert ammunition instead of getting M1 Thumb. These have been great, they fit perfectly into the clip and the action works perfectly. I've been able to practice enough that I've gotten the loading procedure down pat with one motion. The unloading was not something that I had expected as the breech spits out these rounds half-way across the room so best if you cover that area before ejecting them with the rod. I bought 8 rounds...a little pricey but certainly more realistic and ultimately safer than those rubber practice rounds.

Excellent Product, does exactly what I needed it to
Great for practicing loading, ejecting, dry firing, etc. Rounds are the same size as live ammo and feed, eject, etc the same as real rounds. I feel more comfortable adjusting ejectors, etc with a fake round and I use them all the time to get people used to my trigger (extremely light pull) before letting them actually shoot the gun. Also, let's you dry fire with more protection. I use them regularly and there's some paint wear but they still function fine. I just wish more came with it!
