Worked very well for my eyes
Got these for fly fishing. While I haven't had them out on the stream yet, I have clipped them to my hat and have tied on a couple of flies at home. They work very well, and I don't have to have my readers on to use them and to see clearly. Should allow me to keep my sunglasses on and to not have to keep swapping out glasses mid-stream. For reference, I got the 2X, I usually wear 1.50 or 1.75 readers.

Sharp lenses and the metal clip will not break
The stainless steel clip for the brim of a ball cap on the Hat Eyes magnifiers grips very well, and most importantly, it will not break. I bought (and broke) a couple of pairs of a different brand of flip-down magnifier with a fragile plastic clip, which either cracked just putting it on the brim of the cap, or fatigued and broke after flipping the lenses up and down a dozen or so times. Hat Eyes also have very well made lenses that are super sharp. I use mine when doing precision work on automotive projects, fly tying, and when threading 7x tippet into size 20 flies. The tension on the hinge is adjustable as well. Having them on a cap prevents the need to wear bifocals or carrying around a pair of magnifying "readers" and all that nuisance.

Durable
Haven't had them out on the river yet but can see the craftsmanship is much better than those cheap Carson plastic ones i've probably broken at least 3 pair of. These look difficult to break so can't wait to put them to use soon.

great accessory for a fishing hat
these are great! i can easily thread a tiny fly on to the lightest line. they fold out of the way nicely, and are easy to deploy when needed. the construction is very good, the metal clamp holds tightly on my hat brim, and it would take a deliberate motion to remove them from the hat (as appose to them randomly falling off). my brother bought another brand with a plastic clamp and they do not clamp as well as these. these are the way to go!

Secure, convenient way to magnify tasks on the “fly”…
These were a gift for a fly fisher (husband) who just loves it. He had lost the readers which he wore around his neck and was buying another set of readers and a lanyard for the glasses. But with this, he can attach it to his hat-of-the-day and doesn’t worry about glasses getting in the way or getting lost. It took him a little bit of time (a couple of evenings) to adjust to the new magnification and the distance of the lenses from his eyes (as opposed to glasses which sit on your nose) — his readers were 1.75 but this magnifier was a 2.25. He practiced by tying flies at home to adjust to the MagEyes. One thing he loves about it is that the steel clip seems very secure on his hat and he doesn’t worry about losing them; another is how quick it is to flip them down without removing his sunglasses, then back up and out of the way again. Many thanks, too, to all the people in the Amazon community who responded to our question about how to decide on which magnification to get. I based my order on those recommendations and they worked really well.

Poor Design
The magnifying lens frame is not welded to the hat clip. I lost mine into the lake while releasing a fish. Very disappointed in the frame design.

The clips works, just not strong enough
The clip mechanism works, it’s just not strong enough for my eyes

Helps me a lot!
Due to my poor eyesight, I need to wear the Hat Eyes Lens while I shoot my bow. It works quite well other than the distance has to be exact to see what you need to see. A little too close or a little too far and it doesn't work. But that just takes time to get use to it. Overall, it's a nice product for people who need help to see. It works well with my caps too.
