Can't complain at this price
There are a bunch of similar products to this on the market, but this one seems to be about the cheapest -- I paid seven quid for two. I've used more expensive units and, frankly, this one is no worse. The sad fact is that everything for the Raspberry Pi seems to be made to low standards, so it hardly seems worth spending a lot of money -- you don't necessarily get anything better. It's a design flaw in the Pi itself, not in this unit or others like it, that the GPIO header pins will allow a header cable to be plugged in the wrong way around. The socket on this expansion board does not have this problem -- the ribbon header will only fit one way round -- but that's no consolation if you connect it incorrectly at the Pi end. It's worth looking at a pin-out diagram of the Pi (easily found with a web search) if you're not familiar with the connection. There is one little oddity (if that's the right word). The expansion board internally connects pins that are internally connected in the Pi. So, for example, there are many ground (GND) pins on the Pi GPIO header, all of which are connected together on the Pi main board. The corresponding pins on this expansion board don't just wire to the Pi, they wire to one another as well, just as they do on the Pi. The same applies to, for example, the two 5V pins. Broadly, this is a good thing, but it caught me unawares when I was wiring up a prototype on stripboard -- I didn't expect pins to be connected together even when the board wasn't connected to the Pi. Not a big deal, but it took me half an hour to work out why I was getting unexpected continuity readings when I was checking my wiring.i've only used of the two units in the pack so far, but it's been fine. It lined up properly on stripboard, and everything was connected that was supposed to be connected All in all, great value for money.

Cheaper than the original "cobbler" and works just as well
Great. Does exactly the same job as the more expensive brands.

Excellent add on for raspberry pi users
Excellent add on for raspberry pi users. Makes building prototype circuits much easier and neater. No need to worry when you need to remove it.Could do with a better marker for pin 1 on the cable.
