The Complete Church Piano Course - Book 1 Paperback – July 24, 2012

My husband is using this to teach two children to play the piano and they're already picking it up well!

This Complete Church Piano Course is about the best that I have found. The instructions are clear and Pastor Anderson's explanations are simple and easy to understand because he uses visuals to show what the learner is about to do next. He makes learning easy and interesting. I have learned to play without the struggle that I was experiencing, trying to use other books and methods of instruction. I actually look forward to my daily practice more than I did before, because in the past I struggled so much that I quit a number of times, but I kept gong back to trying because I really want to learn to play. I am already looking forward to starting Book Two.

When I purchased this book, I only had very basic music knowledge. After practicing the piano for only a month using this book, I am able to play several hymns and have even played in church. This book does a good job of simplifying how to play and is great for beginners. It uses real hymns. I can't say enough good things about this book. I certainly will buy the rest of the books in the course.

This book is great. If you have some basic knowledge of the piano, it is easy to learn. It takes practice no matter what you use to learn though.

It’s very user friendly! My 8 year old was playing the first song completely within a week, with only minimal help from me.

A couple of years ago we got this and it took me and my 5 kids from knowing absolutely nothing about piano to sounding like we know what we are doing. Lol I had to order a new one because the last one was in shreds from being abused by us all. My kids now play hymns effortlessly. The other books are also great. I was honestly surprised my left hand would be able to do anything but I’m playing cords with the best of them. Great product! Highly recommend!

I've tinkered with the piano/keyboard since I was a little kid, but my primary instrument has been the flute. So really this series has helped me learn the bass clef and how to play the piano using my left hand. I think in a matter of about 6 months I've learned books 1 & 1.5. My boys and my hubby hear me playing daily so they've learned to hum along and are able to recognize these hymns when they're played in church. I hope to one day play on a regular basis at church. Thank you so much for ALL you and yours do!

Note for beginners.I bought this book because I have a student that wanted to be able to play at her church. The book said it was for beginners. But it does not talk about the notes, how to count for them. At the end of the book it has songs that use 8th notes and dotted Quarter notes but does not even have any explanation of how to use play them. She has not gotten to the level in her primary book where she has been taught how to play dotted quarter notes. This book needs to be updated to explain notes and better explain the concepts used in the book.On the plus side, the songs in the beginning of the book were fairly easy for her to learn. And there were some nice songs in the book that she enjoyed playing.
