Sharp, quiet and simple to install.
My Zebra ZP450 recently died, I thought it was a good printer at first, good BOLD prints, stops properly between labels, etc.. but as time went on it started acting erratically and constantly needed re-calibration and prints just randomly failed. Originally I was going to replace it with another Zebra but I decided to go another route. I've been using HP printers for decades, still printing to my 25+ year old HPLJ4100 printer so I decided to try out this HP label printer. In short, I'm extremely happy with it. Simple plug-n-play installation. I have a server in my office so have it connected via USB to the server and shared to my workstations. I have no issues mapping to the printer from my workstations, no manual intervention was required and drivers installed automatically. Prints are SUPER sharp at 300dpi. Stops properly between perforated labels and is MUCH quieter then the Zebra. I print hundreds of shipping labels per month and this printer will pay itself off in no time.

Extremely Disappointed – Won’t Even Install Properly
This HP label printer has been nothing but a headache since the moment I unboxed it. Right away, I noticed it didn’t look brand new—there were signs of prior use, and it honestly feels like a refurbished or second-hand unit that was repackaged without any disclosure. Worse, it refuses to install properly. I followed all the setup instructions ONLINE because there was no instruction included, tried multiple computers and even re-downloaded the software—nothing worked. I've wasted hours trying to get it running, and all I’ve gotten is frustration and lost time I’ll never get back. I expected better from HP. This was supposed to be a simple plug-and-play solution for my business, and now I’m left with a non-functional device and zero support. Absolutely unacceptable.

What an upgrade!!!!
I needed to replace an older Rollo printer and this HP printer seemed to get pretty good reviews so I took the plunge and bought it. I am glad I did. After having to mess around with the driver a bit...I had to delete the HP driver completely and just use the Windows default driver for some reason....that was odd...but it made it work. And work it did! This prints so much better than the Rollo ever did especially towards the end of the life of the Rollo. I use it with ebay exclusively and just with USPS and UPS address labels through ebay. I've had absolutely no issues with it once I got past the driver hiccup.

Exactly what you need to run a small business on a Mac
As a fledgling small business owner who needs to print shipping labels and other small labels I needed a printer that would just work. I tried a high end Zebra printer use on a Mac was difficult. I also tried a $100 printer from Amazon that printed ok but the 200 DPI caused issues with labels scanning. The biggest issue with the cheap printer was it struggled to calibrate to differing label sizes which led to its return.I decided to give this HP a try as it does not require proprietary (ie expensive) labels, can print in 300 DPI and works well on my Mac. I am pleasantly surprised with how quick it prints labels, quickly calibrates to label sizes and just works without much effort natively on a mac. Very happy with this workhorse.

Just so-so
The printer itself is good. But the lack of WiFi connection is really annoying. So I can only give it 4 stars.

Amazing label printer, extremely sharp, make wireless through Dymo Print Server
I was looking for a way to make this printer wireless and finally succeeded using the Dymo Print Server. The printer produces sharp prints at 300 DPI, which is impressive given that most 300 DPI wireless printers from well-known brands cost over $500. This is a great option if you want to make this printer wireless—just get the Dymo Print Server. I also like that it stores the roll inside the printer, unlike models that require fanfold or external rolls. Plus, it supports UPS labels and doesn’t limit you to proprietary labels like the Brother wireless printer or Dymo 5XL.

Not the quality I expected from HP.
I bought this printer to replace a 10 year old Dymo 4xl that was having connection issues. I had a little trouble setting it up at first due to some lack luster instructions and a lack of any online trouble shooting support or FAQs. And I am pretty tech savy, so this was just unclear unstructions on their part. But I did wind up figuring it out on my own.Initially I was impressed with the print quality, speed, and options available, but it quickly became very confusing trying to use different label sizes and shapes. The print drivers seem like your most generic direct thermal printer drivers, and not proprietary to HP at all. In fact to update them, you have to go to Seagull Scientific. This label printer isn't even found anywhere on HP's regular website. You have to go to an "HP Work Solutions" website which hosts some drivers (that aren't even the newest), quickstart guide, and manuals. But that's literally all they have on the site. No trouble shooting other than an LED color guide to decode what the blinking lights on the printer mean, which is made available by being able to download a PDF of the quick start guide that already came in the box with the printer. After that, figuring out what the settings in the very generic thermal print drivers do is up to you. And if you are new to thermal printers, or coming from something like a Dymo that is very user friendly, yet restrictive, good luck! Expect to waste a LOT of labels. Tip: If you do purchase this printer, update the drivers from the Seagul Scientific website. They are newer and solved a few issues I was having.Don't get me wrong, the HP is better than my old Dymo because you can use non-proprietary label sizes. You COULD use off brand labels in the Dymo, but only if they were the same sizes as what was available to purchase from Dymo. But this is also where one thing made me decide to try another printer instead of the HP. I bought some Munbyn round clear labels, but the printer would not read them at all. It kept thinking the printer was empty. I really wanted to use these labels, but was about to send them back and just make due with white and colored labels. But due to the initial printer confusion and headache, something told me to try the equivalent 300dpi Munbyn printer that's over $100 cheaper first. And that's why I'm leaving a 2 star review and will be returning this thing. Other than a very small difference in print quality of larger solid black shapes, the print quality on the $100 cheaper Munbyn is pretty similar to the HP, except the Munbyn seems to offer more adjustment for print quality and I can print the clear thermal labels. The setup was quicker because the instructions were clear and didn't skip an important piece of info and the printer was just easier to use right out of the box. While both companies have phone numbers for tech support, for something like a label printer, I shouldn't have to call a support line to get some very basic info. And Munbyn's website also has a whole Help Center for common issues and questions, along with help with print settings, AND an online label editor (which I have not tested as I don't need it). But HP doesn't even have any label software for this thing. The ONLY thing the HP does better is allows for finer adjustment intervals when it comes to aligning your graphic on the labels. The HP allows for 0.25mm intervals, while the Munbyn only allows for 1mm. I was able to bypass this by adjusting the alignment in Illustrator though. So I'm not sure what you get for that extra $100+. I guess you are paying for the HP name, which dosen't mean much if the printer comes with generic non-HP print drivers, no software, and the experience using the product is barely as good as a lesser known brand. I expected more with HPs name on it, but this thing feels like no one put any thought into it and just slapped their colors and branding on someone else's label printer.
