Definitely straight edge
Great straight edge. Definitely good build and quality. Help me check the block and head of a Lexus ct200h. Common for head gasket. This is a must tool for any engine rebuild

good quality, great price
This comes well packaged with a protective sleeve on the machined edge. I have used it a couple of times, and it seems to be accurate according to what my machine shop has tile me

Seems decent enough for rough checking.
It would be nice if it were slightly more accurate, to say +/-0.0005", but for simple warpage checks it's good enough. My only issue was packaging, as mine appeared to be either opened by the shipping company or it was treated rough enough to be missing the end cap and get dinged up pretty good.

Dead Flat, reasonable value for money
There are some other straightedges that are cheaper, but I've had good luck with OEM Tools in the past and decided that an extra $15-$20 was worth some peace of mind (I am assuming quality control is going to be better). But this is still an affordable tool and I felt it was a good balance between price, brand name, and accuracy.Straightedge was well packaged, nestled inside 2 thick cardboard tubes. Inner tube is a fairly good fit and works as a storage compartment. For the at-home hobbyist, this straightedge was more than adequate for the job. While I do not have a precision surface to compare it to, I took an engine block with a known warp in it and measured the bad spot multiple times in the same plane but shifting the straightedge. Basically, measuring the same spot on the block but with different sections of the straightedge. Every measurement with feeler gauges was the same down to 0.0005", and that is more than good enough for the engine's I'm rebuilding in my garage. The engine I am currently rebuilding is quite old and of questionable origin. I originally planned to send it off to the machine shop, but decided to check it myself and purchased this straightedge. Turns out that while a bit old and crusty, the total warpage in the head and block combined is less than 1 thou, well within spec for me. This thing's already saved me a couple hundred at the machine shop, well worth the cost.Great tool for the DIY engine builder.

A legit video review
The media could not be loaded. Comes well packaged. It's 1/4 steel so if it's truly damaged in shipping its been horribly roughed up. It comes with a plastic cover so once again would have to damage the plastic cover in order to get to the surface that's crucial. Back to the 1/4 it's heavy it's not a ruler. It's only 24 inches long you can't bend it with your bare hands it's not going to get damaged easily. Lastly surface test. Wood isn't straight if you want to do a comparison it needs to be something that's known to be straight. Such as a level, marble, or glass. The end is bare metal so don't forget to coat it with some oil after use to keep it from rusting.
