guarantees super speeds throughout your home
Replaced an older Netgear Nighthawk router which was struggling with the coverage. Before I was getting 35mb in our living room with 1Gb Community Fibre. Now I’m getting about 750 mb wireless. It’s a pretty pricey piece of kit but if you’re struggling with speeds and coverage this is what you need.

Bloody expensive but if you want stability and performance…
I got the matt black ones. Fingerprint magnets so careful when setting up. Wiping with IPA takes off the matt coating very easily so don’t do that.Units are large and also heavy, nearly 1kg each.App is limited in functionality, however, Web GUI served by each router/satellite has way more functionality.Fast connections and once connected it stays connected. It doubled my wifi file transfer rates.Four ethernet ports on each device allows for flexibility to hardwire more. My PSUs are 12V 3.5A which is different to spec. No annoying status lights on the front once setup and working.Only gripes, price and the fact that you can’t specify which DNS server to use for DHCP clients so when using PiHole all requests come from router address only.If you want a network that is stable, fast and doesn’t require rebooting every week to fix weird problems then this is an option.

The Best Mesh WiFi router on the market
I’ve been struggling to get fast WiFi around my house, since upgrading my broadband to 1gbps. The house is a large stone built house over 3 floors, and was getting about 200mbps in most areas. Since buying and installing the RBRE 960, I am now getting over 900mbps everywhere. Yes it is expensive, but well worth the money. Fantastic Mesh system

Unreliable wireless backbone
I was quite excited about this new model, especially because I have a 10G wired network at home and the WAN interface if the main Orbi hub is also 10G. Together with Wifi 6E maximum bandwidth all round! But there were some serious issues which makes the £1500 purchase not worth it for me:1. The wireless backbone which connects the satellites with the main hub is not reliable. It disconnects/connects repeatedly. This is in a 3 bedroom house with normal walls. No huge distances or large obstructions.2. As soon as I put a satellite 2 rooms further it indicates it has an slow connection.Again short distance with only two walls.3. I have a lot of smart plugs/light/ Alexa devices (20+). They all connect to the main hub. Whatever I do, restarting, putting them closer to a satellite, it doesn't help. They work as expected, but it defeats the point of a mesh network. Apple devices do jump from hub to satellite and back depending where you are. (Wifi 6)4. My office printer (2GHz wireless) refused to connect to the wifi. Only when I created a separate network with only 2.5 Ghz enabled (no 6 or 5) did it connect.Again, it does the job but with all the issues above I think paying £1500 is a bit to much. I expect a top notch product for a premium price. As a side note: it would be nice if you could manually move a device to another satellite/hub via the web interface.

Amazing
We have 1 gig fibre and on our previous even sat next to the WiFi we would only ever get 300mbps - now all the way through the house at least 800mbps

There are better products out there much cheaper
The device is huge and heavy to begin with. Setup was easy on the one hand, but satellites are pretty much useless: li a cardboard house, one is just 5 meters away the other one is seven (oK, one single layer brick wall between), the signal quality is poor between the main unit and the satellites. Hard to factory reset 3 times before all finally started working. The app is VERY limited, so most of the features still need to be accessed through 20 years old GUI, I wonder why Netgear wouldn’t invest into something modern? No LED control, so I don’t know if the device is dead or up and running. Security pop ups are annoying and useless, although caught a virus on my daughter’s Mac. Finally, but tbh expected, older devices struggled to connect, so had to switch in the legacy mode, and even then old access point had to be reintroduced to the mix. Bottom line, out of 80+ devices in the house, only 7 devices so far work through the new Wi-Fi. Was it worth it? Certainly not.
