ProQ Large Cold Smoke Generator for Food Smoking, Long-lasting Cold Smoker, Maze Smoker for Cold Smoking, Outdoor Smokers for any BBQ or Cabinet

I got this when getting a large Weber Smokey Mountain as I didn't think the smaller ProQ (had 1 from before) would produce enough smoke. It uses nearly 4x the sawdust, burns a bit longer at 14 hours and produces epic amounts of smoke.Since getting this I've also used the smaller version in the WSM and it still gives good results!If you have anything with a smaller volume than a wheelie bin to fill get the small one, it will be adequate and a lot cheaper to run. If you've got something bigger (or are using a Bradley cabinet) get this and source some cheap sawdust. Both smoke generators are excellent.

Arrived quickly. I was afraid I had gone too big for my Monolith XL BBQ/smoker. It went for about 18 hours in the end and did a great jobOnly complaint is that the amount of wood dust supplied wouldn’t even fill a third of the smoke generator. Why only send such a small amount? That is just cheap.

I upgraded to this from the smaller brother as I had built a large cabinet sized smoker and I found the smaller one was not filling it with enough smoke. If you've used the ProQ Smoke Generator you'll know what an ingenious little product it is, this one works just the same but BIGGER. More smoke and a longer burn time, I've squeezed 16 hours from this with quite fine sawdust.I smoke a lot of products for small commercial use and this does the job perfectly. It is by far the easiest and most reliable method for cold smoking that I've encountered.If you don't have a big smoker then opt for the smaller model. I use the smaller one in my Weber Smokey Mountain and it's the perfect size for it.

I was very disappointed in this product which I purchased last Christmas for my annual Salmon smoking, especially as it was recommended by the person who introduced me to cold smoking salmon, the legendary Turan T Turan .I found that the smoke dust did not burn very far round the maze, and I had to keep re-lighting it. does anyone have any suggestions?

An awesome bit of kit that I use frequently. The ability to produce smoke for a long period, for a large volume BBQ/Smoker and without generating heat is great. It's well built and the price is spot on.Tip: If you find the ProQ CSG goes out unexpectedly, it's almost always down to damp dust. Fill the CSG up with dust and put it in the oven at 150C for 10 minutes, it'll help prevent it.

Good design but the tea candle slot could be improved, better to just use a lighter instead.
