Nice little lock and deterent for a motorbike.
Good sturdy and robust product, fits onto my Honda PCX 125 nicely. One should read the instructions first before trying to fix the battery in it, because if the covers aren't on within 20 seconds, the alarm will go off.Otherwise, the product is easy to use and fit. The lock is a bit sticky at the start with a fresh key, but it wasn't too bad to remove and no false alarms yet.The XX6Y model also allows one to fit the lock on by just pressing the button down for the locking pin. You don't need a key to lock it - so it can be fitted quickly.

Works well but problematic with low battery
It's compact, robust, sensitive and easy to use. BUT it has a major drawback: the way it warns you when the battery is getting low, which is about every 6 months, is that it starts going off randomly with no motion or vibration. If that happened just after you went on holiday, you would not be popular with your neighbours when you got back. So: either make sure you replace the battery every 6 months without fail, or buy a different product.

Solid lock
I purchased this mainly for the alarm more than the lock itself. A disc lock on its own is not really much use as I'm sure everyone realises they'll just throw your pride and joy in the back of (a probably stolen) transit van.My current bike is only a 125 which limited the options as the holes in the discs are smaller than on a full size bike, this meant the XX6 with its smaller pin diameter was the choice for me. The XX10 and XX14 both have double locking mechanisms so would've been preferable, but the size of the locking pin would not have fit on my bike. Many reviews have commented on the difficulty in getting the battery in the alarm without setting it off, as much as I dont think it is as hard as some people have found, one review the chap said he ended up hitting it with a sledge hammer and binning it (why you wouldn't just send it back or use it without the alarm is beyond me). The alarm itself only lasts for 10 second bursts but there is no ability to turn it off as it is controlled by two sensors inside the unit. The easiest way I found was to hold the speaker flat against the palm of your hand to muffle the sound. This worked very well and after the alarm went off after the first 10 seconds there was enough time for me to fit it into the lock and get the backing plate on (you might want to try this a time or two before putting the battery in if you're not so nimble of finger).I have only had the lock a day so can't comment on it's durability, but so far it seems sturdy and the alarm is quite loud. As I said I wouldn't use this on it's own, where possible this will be used along side my Almax security chain.Only 4 stars due to the smaller pin size and single locking mechanism (and yes I realise the irony behind marking it down for the small pin and it being a requirement for my bike :)).

Convenient. Loud. A solid product.
I was looking for an alarm for my motorcycle but I couldn't afford a full alarm system. I had previously bought hefty disc locks and chains but I was always paranoid that someone could be messing with my bike and I wouldn't know about it. It was also annoying having to lug around all that security. I wanted something I could arm/disarm, something that was easy to carry, and not a pain in the you know what to get on. For this reason the Xena XX6 disc lock alarm was ideal.I did have a look at the other locks they had but what appealed to me the most about the XX6 is the simple locking mechanism, push to lock, it couldn't get more simpler. The downside is that because it isn't a double locking pin (like on other models from the brand) some very determined thieves could possibly pry it off. But if you're parked close and in line of sight, I'd doubt anyone would be able to without you knowing about it. In that sense, it's not a lock you would want to use as an impossible to defeat garage lock - I have a serious chain and anchor for that, but a lock and alarm that you would want to use while out and about or as additional security. As far as the alarm goes, its pretty loud, you'll understand when you try to put the battery in. Yes, getting the battery in is a little fiddly, I got it stuck and the alarm went off while doing so - so you might not want to be doing this late at night. While it's pretty loud I'm afraid it has some limitations. It's loud enough to startle thieves and children, and most likely elderly people, but if you use it in an enclosed space it's muted significantly. However, as I have mentioned this is more of an out and about lock, so in open spaces or parked in front of the house, its not an issue, you'll hear it, and so will the neighbours and people passing by.The battery itself is a little small. I was originally concerned about it's longevity but having just tested it after 2 months of being secured to my bike (for the winter) its nice to know it still works. If you think about it, the more often the alarm goes off the more it'll drain the battery, the less it goes off the longer it'll last, which is perfectly fine because most of the time it doesn't move. When you put on or remove the lock it'll beep at you to let you know it has armed so you'll know if the battery has gone.Yes, its motion activated, with the alarm on the front wheel any attempt to lift the bike, knock the bike, or playing with the handle bars will set it off. It's a bit of a rush trying to get the lock off. The key doesn't go in gracefully sometimes so you'll find yourself lining the key up with the hole, jamming it in, and getting the lock off before your precious 3 seconds are up. Always fun.Otherwise the lock is very high quality, very secure, and very convenient as a portable alarm. I went for the bright yellow version because of the way it stands out, it just screams "Look I'm a hefty lock so don't think about messing with me!". No more lugging around hefty chains and disc locks when popping to the shops, visiting friends, or going into town. Very happy with it.
