Zojirushi SW-KA75 H Stainless Steel Lunch Jar 25 oz Ice Gray

Literally the best of the best where insulated food jars are concerned. I tested it the first time by putting boiling water in it and leaving it for 12 hours. When I opened it, steam was still rising from the water and it was too hot to drink or put your fingers in. I use it frequently for work to keep my food hot or at least very warm over 10-12 hour shifts. I really want to buy a green set next, in love with this jar.

This is good for middle school students.

Holds temp warm or cold for a long time. Put soup in container. 24hrs later still warm, not hot. But amazing!

I have not been disappointed with any Zojirushi beverage thermos. This food jar is my 2nd purchase as I also have the exact vintage rose (pink) one as pictured. While easy to clean, I may not have time to clean immediately so a 2nd food jar purchase was necessary. If the medium grey (brown) version as shown on Zojirushi's website was also sold on Amazon, I'd consider a 3rd food jar to complete the set. This one nicely matches my Zojirushi ice grey (light green) travel thermos.It was able to retain heat to my soup from 8am to 8pm. While not scorching hot but at a temperature that can still warm a person up on a cold day.Very easy to clean with only 3 parts total, minimal crevasses, stainless steel that is polished to mimic nonstick properties, and wide opening to fit my hand + cleaning sponge.The caveat so far is the lid retains the smell of certain foods.Do not recommend using metal spoon because noisy and don't know how it will impact the stainless steel properties. I use silicone or wooden ladles and spoons to eat.I still have not tried cold or hot dry foods as it was not my intended purpose of this purchase.

Daughter loves this for school lunches. It's very cute and love there's no place for mold to grow, and easy to hand wash, no tiny pieces. Keeps her food warm from 7am to afternoon.

Originally I bought this with the hopes of keeping burritos warm during a hike, but I quickly found that it's just a little too small for today's monstrous take-out burritos, haha! Instead I throw some scrambled eggs and peppers in this thing, take some loose tortillas, and next thing you know I'm feeding all my friends. Don't think about it, just get it. :)

My son tells me that his lunches are barely lukewarm, despite my depositing the food while piping hot. I even tried rinsing the lunch jar with hot water immediately before adding the food, to no avail. He asks for help in opening the lid, so it must maintain a good seal, but still doesn't keep the food hot. He usually waits for his food to cool so long that it's cold, to me, but even he considers the food to be "barely warm" after a few hours. I put too much faith/hope in the Zojirushi brand. How disappointing.
