Markers in package were dry
I have the normal all purpose blue Quik Stik versions of these for non-oily surface marking on clean metal, glass, plastic, etc, and they work phenomenally. Unfortunately, the red Quik Stik+ Oily Surface markers I received from ordering these were all dried out in the box when I received them, like they were baked with the caps off before being shipped. They hardly write at all on very coarse materials and do nothing at all on smooth materials.

Would Recommend
Only thing is when shipped box was destroyed and have loose markers everywhere. Do Structural Steel Inspection. Very nice to mark up deficiencies without get paint all over yourself.

Easy to use, love the twist up knob! Worked on my oily surfaces!
I got 12 markers in yellow color which I wanted to test at work. It performed well and it dried fast!

No good on wet surfaces
Got these specifically to write on wet surfaces.Mistake. Let absolutely no mark on a wet surface. Basically same as a wax crayon marker, just way more expensive. Two thumbs down. Would have given zero stars but not possible.

Writes threw hydraulic oils marks on all materials

Does not allow a smooth or legible writing on glass window. Not worth the money.

It’s true these will write in oil, grime. I marked my oil pan for a turbo drain with these
These markers are incredible! If you do a lot of automotive car stuff, fabrication these will be your best friend.So far I’ve used them on my Turbo installation when marked the spot on the oil pan for the oil drain. Needless to say my oil pan is not clean. It was full of road grime, oil gunk and even with all that this marker wrote on my pan perfectly.I should clarify something on these markers. These markers have like a wax vs an ink. This is how they are able to write on oily, wet surfaces. On the bottom is a thing you turn to twist out the tip. Basically these markers will last FOREVER because they are always a new clean marker at a twist of the bottom.I also used these when making the intercooler mounts.For me I could’ve be happier with these. I’ve been looking for something that actually last out in the shop. I usually use a silver marker or gold which works but they get dried out or get dirty and stop working. These makers don’t have that issue.
