Best shoes money can buy
I quite honestly have square feet and was looking for a shoe that would compensate an extra-extra-extra wide foot and boy do these shoes do it. They run a bit big when you get to such wide shoes but it also has that extra space for comfort of your foot. All the rumors about these shoes about the value and quality and durability of the shoe are all true. I stand on tile for my work all day and my feet feel comfortable enough and supported throughout the entire day. I won’t be worrying about other brands and styles of shoes now that I found a pair that can take care of my wide Fred Flintstone feet!

Comfortable & stylish.
I purchased this to replace my old pair of New Balance. The design and color combination are very nice. I did not realize that the 990 has a bit of a heritage and was glad that I purchased this. I wore it while I was traveling internationally, with lots of walking and a bit of hiking. They held up very well and was comfortable throughout the trip.I have wide feet and I'm glad that they offer wide and X-wide versions.

wide size
I bought these tennis shoes for my son. I'm so glad I ordered them. The quality was as the seller mentioned. It was hard to find tennis shoes in wide sizes in normal stores. The only place we found them was on Amazon. I truly recommend them. The price was average.

Absolute Necessity for people with Plantar fasciitis
I'm almost 50 and I started getting to the point where I couldn't walk - of course, the doctor says "oh, it's just plantar fasciitis.." I say "of course" because for someone without the pain themselves, it seems like it's just a Dr. Scholl's insert that is a cure-all for it. I used one of those first, and while they alleviate the pain a bit, they don't actually *fix* the problem. I asked the Doctor to send me to a Podiatrist. The guy who I saw is quite esteemed, he's done groundbreaking work in the area of feet. But he told me "the only cure, outside of trying near-useless velcro attachment devices and leg braces, is to wear New Balance 990s all the time."Ok so silly me, I thought these were $50 shoes - but they aren't. That saying "you get what you pay for" applies here incredibly, at least for me. $200 bucks later on Amazon, and I'm expecting a miracle or I'm grumpy. The odd ending to this story is this: I'm not grumpy and I absolutely fell in love with the way these fit. I've worn many, many shoes in my lifetime (including Asics and lower-level New Balance shoes, along with Nikes etc) and there simply isn't any comparison.Like, ZERO.I have wide feet (Fred Flintsone feet) but after a couple of days of breaking them in, my plantar fasciitis not only started to fell MUCH better but in a month's time it went away. WOW. I had it for almost a year and I couldn't figure out how to fix it (nor could my primary care doctor). If you are struggling with the idea of whether these shoes are worth it here's the answer: THEY ARE. Yes, you may have to make sure you have the right size but once you do, I really doubt you'll ever buy another shoe type again.Last but not least, I bought mine 6 months ago and I wear them everywhere - even in the house - because they help my feet. So I've put many, many miles on them. They are nowhere near showing signs of wear - occasionally they'll get dusty if I'm out walking, but no wear.Made in the USA. I didn't even know that until after I bought them, but now it makes sense. Things of quality are built here (because) the companies who are headquartered here in the US don't have the mismatch of communication you'd naturally have making something overseas. I say this because most New Balance shoes are made in China, these are the only ones that I'm aware of made in the US. But the quality difference between the two - from the "other" New Balance shoes in their line to the 990s is black-and-white. If I were CEO of that company, I'd onshore their production of all lines.. they'd be the only manufacturer with quality shoes for everyone. In the meantime, I'm continuing to enjoy life with these without Plantar Fasciitis. I'm definitely a happy camper!

good supportive sneakers are important
these are expensive. to me they're worth it. there are a lot of eyelets. there is one set on top for a heel lock. i used to wear sneakers for years and wear out the soles. amazon gives me reminders of what i've bought. so, i get them more often, i don't use them once they no longer give proper support. i now have blue and black. i'd buy a lighter blue if they had it. hey, they're cheaper than a bentley. i'd buy bentleys, ferraris in various colors, too, but, i'll take the money with me when i die.

Wonderful
Have constant foot pain after breaking my foot in a car wreck several years ago. I've got a few different shoes that are "ok" and don't hurt "too much" but when the family wanted to spend 3 days walking around Universal Orlando I knew I needed to come prepared. Bought a few different pairs of shoes to try and kept 2 to bring with me. These and the NB Fuelcell Rebel V4. Both were fantastic and I felt great all 3 days.

Worth the money!
These are my husbands favorite walking shoes. He walks about 5-6 miles a day and has worn this shoe style for years. I can't recommend highly enough and we'll be buying them again in the future.
