Bosch Garden Turbine Shredder AXT 25 TC (2500 W; Suitable for Wood and Tough Garden Debris; Integrated Collection Box 53L; in Carton Packaging)

After battling with an old, normal bladed, shredder for years, having to store it all for months to dry it before it would shred.....this has been life changing! No exaggeration.....this has made such a difference....The turbine blade is incredibly powerful, pulling through and devouring thick branches and soft green ones with ease.The noise is very quiet. I do not need ear protection at all. it has a satisfying 'crunch, crunch, crunch ' as a branch passes through.The entrance port is well designed, and strong, allowing awkward shapes through, where others would not, yet preventing oversized branches.Clear, large, green on/red off rubber buttons. I think there's also one to reverse the munching, crunching turbine, but I have not needed this (which says a lot!!).Wheels to move around, though I keep mine permanently ready in my shed for convenience.The collection box is large and holds a l lot of shredded material. The machine stops if this is removed, ideal for safety. The collection box is an easy size to move around and carry and is sturdy.The unit can be collapsed down for even neater storage, but i leave mine up all the time, as it's so easy just to pop in whatever you've cut down on a whim.The plunger tool is useful if light material (greenery) hasn't gone through, but mostly the next bit of slightly woody stem does the job for you.It has got bunged only when I've tried to push my luck and put in loads of very green, soft garden waste, with no woodiness to it. It did take it, with just a small amount of prodding.It really is outstanding.....and i rarely say that.It's my favourite thing to use in the garden as it is a pleasure, all round. On every level. I recommend it without reservation to anyone who can afford to do so. You'll be glad you spent the extra, as the time (and aggravation !)it saves are repaid very quickly :-)I've used it, perhaps, 5 times for big batches and, perhaps, 50 times for a few armfuls of hedge cuttings, and i look around wondering what else i can cut....i love it that much!If you need any more convincing....in the words of Mrs Doyle.....go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on!

Having used big petrol shredders/munchers in the past I was reserved about how the electric bosch would compare. I needn't have worried, it's very impressive! Run all day with no problems, chopping 40mm branches with ease, even knarley ones! Noise wasn't too bad (lots quieter than I expected). For moving it over rough ground I used a sack barrow as it can get a bit wobbly on its own narrow wheels. The only niggle (& this being really pedantic) is the cable tidy hooks are very small. Overall, a very well built, strong, sturdy machine that's well worth the asking price. 10/10.

Easily chomps through really big branches as well as greenery and leaves. I bought this because my old non-turbine AXT25 was getting old and blunt, and just mashing up branches rather than cutting them. The new turbine system is much better than the old system. When it does stall on a knotty bit of wood (which is actually very rare - anything that gets in through the entrance restrictor will normally get chipped), then it can run in reverse to clear the blockage. It is pretty quiet. Only downside is that it is very heavy and awkward to move around.

Munches through lots of branches and hedge cuttings with ease.. one speed and has a strong motor. Not that noisy even when crunching. Easy to clear if soft twigs and leaves get stuck ... can't fault it .. does the job well

Been putting off the upgrade due to price... DOH!First the good:It devours garden waste... I mean it gulps it down.It nips off pieces in nibbles instead of pulling. Much safer when feeding in brambles.It's much quieter than normal shredders.It hasn't clogged or jammed yet.Very easy assembly/set up... 5 mins... took longer to unbox!Now the bad:It weighs a tonne! It is solid and really heavy!Blade/cutter replacement is much more expensive. And my wife WILL put a stone in it.Both are expected though with a higher standard of shredder.It doesn't chop as small as other shredders due to cutting method, may take longer to compost.I wish it had a bigger hopper so I could feed it at the rate it eats... and I love watching it chew!

Note for the design engineers the motor and the hopper are excellent but the bin is too fragile. This has split after just two hours and I have to tape it up with gaffer tape. Disappointed given the price.

never had one of these before but I am so glad I did ... makes nice chopped wood chips for garden mulching. The machine eats anything up to spec diameter and seems not to struggle to cut away at dry and green wood. Doesn't shred thin dry twigs so well but I find if you mix them in with other branches then all is well. Thought I might be wasting my money but I am very happy. Always rated bosch products and relieved to see that quality has not fallen off over the years.
