i think the kuru toga advance in 0.5 and 0.7 are going to improve my drawing skills. i include the drawing comparisons. i first wanted to see parallel lines and clarity of very small circles and dashes . i’m very pleased. i’m not sure i did a good job with the raccoon tails but they’re ok. i am happy with the blended squares and ovals. i smoothed them with a soft firm brush/es. i will be using these for finishing details in graphite drawings and possibly color pencil drawings. it is difficult to keep a sharp point on pencils. i may update this review in the future.

The Kuru Toga Advance pencils have double the rotation speed of the regular Kuru Togas, which is really helpful when taking notes in english. This pencil is still a primarily plastic build, but it's comfortable and looks great!

Thanks to the auto-rotating lead, the writing comes out more consistent than a traditional pencil. Worth the money.

This pencil has the feature that rotates the lead a little every time you lift it off the paper. That keeps it from wearing flat on on side. The other feature that is so terrific is the sliding sleeve that supports the lead all the way down to the paper, so the lead is less likely to break off. Even the fragile 0.3mm leads survive amazingly well. And, the entire point can be retracted into the body so it does not mark your pocket or stab your chest.The feature this pencil does not have is a large eraser, that would ideally extend with a twist of the barrel. The Pentel Twist-Erase has this feature but I quit carrying it in favor of the Kuru Toga Advance. It has a typical small eraser underneath the end cap.

Liked the auto lead advance which means I never have to advance it manually again. It does take some getting used to as some contact is made with metal to paper, but it's not scratchy or distracting. Once you're comfortable with it, you'll never have to worry about breaking a .5 mm lead again. You can even get a softer lead (B or lower) which brings out a darker line without fear of breaking it. The plastic barrel means it won't be cold to the touch.For questions about suitability of the barrel advance, there are Youtube videos available.

I never knew I would love a pencil or be passionate about it enough to write a review but this is the best pencil I’ve ever used! Love it, just treat yourself and buy one!

Writing left-handed means I'm always pushing the pencil across the page. The rotating lead keeps the point from becoming sharp enough to treat through a paper while writing on it. Awesome!
